Get Results From Self Hypnosis
The most important step in any hypnosis program is setting your intention! Before you even turn a self hypnosis session on you should first have a written statement of your intention. this statement should sum up the result you want to accomplish from listening to the hypnosis session. For an example we will assume you have a goal to gain more self confidence.
Firstly write down a statement outling your intent and alter it so that it becomes an affirmation or set of affirmations. Make it present tense and very positive in nature. "I am increasing my confidence everyday", "I am self assured and self confident in every situation" and "I can feel my self-esteem increasing everyday" are a few good examples.
Ensure that you do not include the negative aspect your goal or what you do not want such as "I am no longer lacking in confidence" or "My low self-esteem is getting better". These statements focus on the situation as it is not how you want it to be. So remember keep the statement positive and only include what you do want! While still in a waking state imagine how you would look and feel if these statements were true. Make a quick mental movie of how the new you would walk, talk and interact with people. Create a mental movie that shows you being confident in situations that would normally leave you feeling a lack of confidence. You will use this mental movie during your self-hypnotic trance session.
Begin by breathing deeply. In through your nose to the count of five and out through your mouth to the count of five. This will relax your body.
Focus your gaze softly on a spot in front of you. Look for somewhere that is slightly above eye-level while you keep your head straight.
Relax each muscle group of your body beginning with your feet and moving up to your head. While doing this allow your eyes to close when they begin to feel heavy.
Now take a deep breath and on the exhale mentally repeat your affirmation. Do this for several cycles until you feel that the affirmation is beginning to feel like the truth.
Continue to breathe deeply and imagine that you are at a movie theatre. Directly in front of you hangs a huge wide projection screen. Up on the massive widescreen begin to project the mental movie you made earlier and let it run several times. Hear the audience cheer as the movie runs. Clap and cheer yourself as you watch that 'other' you acting how you want to act and exhibiting the type of confident behaviour you want to have.
Continue your deep slow breathing as it will keep you relaxed.
Now imagine that you are floating up towards the screen. The audience is going wild as they know what is about to happen. They are cheering you on! Imagine that you float into the screen and become part of the movie. You stop behind the "other confident you" and find yourself facing the back of his/her head.
At this time take a step and walk into that 'new' you just as you would step into a projection or as though you wear trying on some new clothes. The new you is a perfect fit! Watch as the colours around get brighter, the sounds get louder and the scene gets bigger. As you enter the new you, feel how it feels to be that person. See what that person sees. Hear what that person hears.
In the distance on the other side of the screen you can hear the audience going wild with delight as you perform and act as that 'other' you would act. Feel how good that feels.
Now repeat your affirmations as you imagine the 'other' confident you would say them. Believe the truth behind these statements and feel that they are true. Say them with conviction.
Now once you feel all those great feelings of confidence, self assurance and self esteem just allow the scene to begin to fade. Mentally begin to count down from five to one as you allow your eyes to slowly open. Become fully aware of your surroundings as you bring yourself back to physical reality but bring with you all those good feelings.

From Aaaaah To Ahaa! – Treating Phobias Through Hypnotherapy For Phobias
Are you one of those who mortally fears flying in airplane or getting into an elevator; are you one of those people who would rather live on take out food for days if you found a rat in your cupboard while cleaning? Then it seems to me you have a phobia. But before you start hassling yourself with it, let me make it clear that a phobia is very different from fear. Fear is a rational feeling, which is driven by the instinct of survival; let’s say fear of falling or fear of touching sharp things. You are afraid of them because you know you might hurt yourself with them. However a phobia is an irrational feeling, it is a grave fear attached to an object or situation, which in reality might not harm us after all! Something like a fear of water, dentists, blood, driving etc. they might not harm us but we are mortally scared of them in any case. Can you identify yourself with any of the phobia situations? Then its time you looked at hypnotherapy for phobias to help your situation.
Imagine this, you have been offered a lucrative position of a hotshot executive at a premier company; the profile looks irresistible, the pay is exceptional and it has the makings of the perfect job you imagined. There is only one hitch…the profile requires you to jet set around the world at frequent intervals, and you are petrified of flying. What would you do; would you give up a dream job because of your phobia? In most cases, a phobia is a negative emotion; your mind tells you that what you are scared of might not be rational and plausible, but your subconscious will just not allow you to override the fear. In such cases, you end up losing on a lot of opportunities which you might regret later; worse still your phobia might adversely affect your career, family and love life. This is where hypnotherapy for phobias comes in. A hypnotherapist will ideally work with you to discover the issues which led to the formation of such a phobia. Most of these phobias are born in our childhood, and our subconscious mind detaches the fear from the situation. What it carries on in the adulthood is the irrational fear, with no recollection whatsoever of the situation which instilled this fear in us. Hypnotherapy for phobias will let you reconnect with the past and identify the root cause of your phobia.
Now that we have established the cause of the phobia, there are different ways on which it can be approached. For example, there is a method we hypnotherapists call Cognitive hypnotherapy, which helps your mind realign the reactions to the fearful situations. In other words, these techniques help you to form a behavior pattern when faced with the situation or object you fear. Let’s say if you are water phobic or are scared of driving, this method of hypnotherapy for phobias will teach you to have a calm reaction when faced with a situation, and teach you to relax with the help of visualizations.
In some other cases, hypnotherapy for phobias works on the theory of making the subconscious mind realize that the phobia is irrational. This is done with the help of auto suggestions and positive enforcements. The subconscious is made aware that though the fear might have served a specific purpose in your childhood, it holds no relevance in your life as an adult; by being fed these suggestions on a regular basis, your subconscious will learn to distance itself from the fear and eventually discard it for good.
There is a common factor between phobias and hypnotherapy; they are both related to the subconscious. However, while one is irrational and undesirable, the other is all about self discovery and self innovation.

Entrepreneurship - the Failure Myth
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honourable, but more useful, than a life spent doing nothing.
George Bernard Shaw
According to Global Entrepreneurial Monitor (GEM) fear of failure is the top reason given in Ireland and worldwide by aspiring entrepreneurs for not starting their own businesses.
NESTA - the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts and the UK’s largest early stage investor in innovative and creative businesses – found that almost three quarters of people who said they had what they believed was a good business idea were not acting on it because they were afraid of not succeeding.
Ironically on further examination it is obvious that all would-be entrepreneurs are being paralyzed by something that doesn’t exist.
That’s right. Failure is a myth!
Entrepreneurial Development – Failure brings you Closer to Success!
Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb famously said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
It took James Dyson, the engineer who reinvented the vacuum cleaner, four and a half years and 5,127 prototypes to refine his design.
“Each failure taught me so much,” he said. “Success teaches you nothing. Failures teach you everything. Making mistakes is the most important thing you can do.”
In an interview with Time Magazine, Larry Page, inventor of Google, said, “Invariably we try ten things that don’t quite work out in order to do one thing that is successful. And we learn a lot in doing the ten things that didn’t quite work.”
Thus every failure brings you a step closer to success and moves you further down the path of entrepreneurship.
Ironically by embracing this truism you mastered your first two major challenges in life – walking and talking.
Remember: As a child, ‘Never say die’, ‘Have no fear’, ‘Try and try again’, ‘Enjoy the moment’, were your working metaphors.
You fixed your eye on the goal, took your first step – wobbled a bit – steadied yourself. Then another step. Then landed on your backside!
What happens then? Did you give up? Did you say to yourself ‘I tried my best and I can’t do it. It hurts. I’m never doing that again!’? Did your ego kick in and start whispering ‘you’re making a fool of yourself. They’re all laughing at you! Better quit while you are ahead.’?
No indeed, as each one of us is born with an innate desire to reach our full potential, so you got up and tried again ultimately succeeding.
Model off your childlike strategies in the future and master the art of entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs go for gut
As they journey on the path of entrepreneurship, many successful businesspeople would identify their intuition or gut instincts as their compass and mentor. Without it, they wouldn’t have achieved the “unachievable.”
“Don’t let the noise of other people drown out your inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become,” advises Steve Jobs, Apple Computer CEO
So what is intuition or gut? For some it is a feeling in their stomach, for others, a compelling vision, and for more its an inner voice; all of which are promoting with conviction, a course of action.
It works best when there is no emotional connection to its finding.
Follow your Gut – Be an Entrepreneur!
Nurturing your intuition allows you to connect with intelligence far greater than what’s available through your conscious mind. Disregarding it is the equivalent of cutting off your blood supply i.e. cutting off life’s messages in the context of truly reaching your potential in life.
In 1996 with a poor academic record in English, no background in writing and told I would not succeed by two award winning journalists ( not best selling authors), I decided to honour my intuition and commit to writing a Best Selling Book. Similar to many potential entrepreneurs it felt right to follow my gut but it didn’t make much sense and I didn’t have the know how. A few years later, I had sold approximately 15,000 copies.
Recently while reflecting on my time as a marketing consultant, I realised that very few projects whose market feasibility I had to check got the green light. I always found enough reasons why the business shouldn’t start. If I had applied the same level of analysis to the feasibility of the book, I wouldn’t have pursued this avenue either.
In the context of entrepreneurship, too often people disregard their gut in favour of the “practical, left brained approach” more often than not to the detriment of their project.
I now know that there isn’t a dream in the world that you and I couldn’t conjure up enough reasons why we shouldn’t proceed with it. Knowledge always gives you enough reasons not to act which is why I advise at all times to honour your gut in the knowledge that you will always end up in a place you describe and recognize as better than your starting point.
Oftentimes people don’t choose to go for gut because quite simply it doesn’t come with a pension plan. In the context of you reaching your potential and achieving meaning and significance, pain/discomfort will be part of the package. However this is nothing compared to the pleasure you will have at living and working in your own dream business.
Enjoy the trip.
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.” Einstein

Why Men Leave (The Fantasy Relationship)
Copyright 2006 Brenda Shoshanna
"What's life without a girl friend?" asks Jimmy, a tall, forty-five year old Sicilian man, an irresistible charmer. "I never say good-bye to one without a few more waiting in the wings," he says. "It keeps me going. Is that so bad?" Then he flashes his boyish grin.
Although he never stays long, Jimmy has strong opinions on male female relationships. "There's a conflict of roles, with no roles clearly defined. "Women want monogamous relationships. Men don't want to get trapped. Men get guilty about leaving though. Believe it or not, it's hard to leave. We men do get guilty. Whatever we do we end up feeling like rats.”
Underneath all this are his feelings of dependency. Jimmy believes a man is nothing compared to a woman."A man really wants a woman to run the show," he says easily. "A guy doesn't know what's going on. But he also wants the woman to let him think he's running it. If women could only understand that -boy. It's a subtle thing.
Commenting on this issue, Dr. Robert Berk, says, "There are a lot of men who can't tolerate their own dependency on women because they experience it as emasculating. They therefore withdraw. Some downgrade the woman to make her appear a lot less valuable than she really is to them." Jimmy compensates by having as many women around as he can. This way he won't be the one to be left - an unbearable ego blow.
"A man likes a strong woman," Jimmy continued, "but she should be strong in subtle ways. In order to have a really terrific woman that he wouldn't want to leave, a man has to be confident that his love was strong enough for her so she wouldn't go somewhere else. Good women are too much for most men."
When Jimmy finally found the woman of his dreams, he saw her twice, and after that, wouldn't ever see her again. "The magic was really something. I held her close, we laughed a lot, she was terrific. Neither of us could part. It was perfect. At the end of the night we didn't take each other's numbers. We just had our night and said good-bye. We both said to each other we hoped we never saw each other again. You see, we created this incredible illusion for two nights, but could we do it again?
After what happened that night, well, it can't get better than that? I'm gonna live off that memory the rest of my life." For Jimmy, and many men like him, being truly happy, and affirmed in love can only happen in the world of illusion.
He was determined to hold onto this woman and the two nights they spent together exactly as they had been. He needed it badly. At all costs he didn't want the fantasy to be destroyed, or to see aspects of himself or her that didn't fit in.
When a man is seeking illusion, fantasy, and escape from painful conflict or feelings of low self-esteem, a brief, magical experience, in which no one is tested, becomes a substitute for real love. A fantasy love cannot be threatened or damaged. It also cannot be taken away. Of course, the contradiction inherent in this situation is that holding onto this fantasy keeps the possibility of ongoing, sustaining love away.

Reduce Limiting Beliefs in 3 Steps
We live in an amazing time and are afforded the luxury of opportunities to live intentional lives. There is nothing to stop us from living our dreams except ourselves. Do you know what your dream is, what your purpose is, what gets you out of bed in the morning? If you do know all that, what is holding you back from your success? (p.s. How do you define success for yourself?)
Once we can target where we are and how we want to proceed, sometimes it is a mystery that we find ourselves stuck. ‘Stuckness’ can serve a purpose. It can be a necessary percolating time to learn what we need to move forward. When that percolating time has finished, it may be time to figure out what stumbling blocks we aren’t aware of. One area to explore is thoughts we have stored and accepted as true, that have become limiting beliefs.
Limiting beliefs are many times unconscious messages that may no longer be valid or useful to us. The messages we receive come from our socialization, education, our daily living, and exposure to advertising, to name a few sources.
Negative or limiting beliefs can infiltrate any part of daily life and that may include relationships, your financial arena, and self care. It may be important to get an overview of which messages holding negative and limiting beliefs you are ready to dispose of once you have uncovered their presence.
To become a more healthy and whole human being, discovering and examining limiting beliefs is essential. For example, if in your mind and heart you hold a belief that money is the root of all evil, that money corrupts your integrity, that money means you have no friends, then you will likely not attract money to you.
The benefit of clearing out negative and limiting beliefs is that you are then open to receive and attract what you truly desire and want.
One of my limiting beliefs was around dance. I told myself and believed that I could not dance. One of my ex-husbands pronounced that I danced like a baby elephant. The resulting frustration and painful ache of not moving to music, with my feet stuck to the floor, my back plastered to the wall, was agonizing. And finally I had had enough. I uncovered the fears and limiting beliefs I had about my dance skills. On my 50th birthday I declared I was worthy of dance, signed up for a weekend workshop with Gabrielle Roth and danced from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon and have not stopped since then. I feel alive, present, and joyful to be dancing whenever and wherever the music meets me.
Another area where I have benefited from becoming aware and have reduced my limiting/negative beliefs is my traditional high level of modesty and inhibition. I now enjoy and appreciate my body and sexuality in a more healthy way and I am grateful to have allowed myself to dismiss beliefs that limited my physical pleasure and sense of my feminine self.
There are steps to take to reduce your limiting beliefs. First, heighten your awareness by listening to what you hear in your thoughts in response to a goal or desire that you have. Second, decide when you hear a limiting or negative belief around succeeding in that goal or desire, whether the belief is true for you now. The third step is to dismiss the belief if it is not true. This is a continuous growth sequence and will become easier to follow as you practice.

The Willingness To Heal
We cannot begin a journey without our willingness to do so. Without our willingness to do whatever it takes to heal, we will not begin the journey of healing and evolving our soul. Doing whatever it takes means that we are ready and willing to feel, learn about and take full responsibility for our own feelings - our own pain, fear, anger, hurt, aloneness, loneliness, disappointment, depression, sense of safety, worth, lovability and joy. Willingness means that we are ready to become aware of creating our own feelings with our thoughts, beliefs and actions. It means we are willing to face whatever it is we fear in order to heal the beliefs causing the fear.
Willingness means that we choose to be courageous and face our demons - the shadow side of ourselves about which we do not want anyone to know. It means that we are ready to move out of denial about the pain we are in, ready to stop hiding from ourselves. Willingness means that we are ready to become aware of how much we want control over our pain, over others, and over the outcome of things. Until we are ready to see, without judgment, how deeply we want to control everything, and all the overt and subtle ways we try to have control, we cannot choose to open.
Willingness means that we are ready to ask for help from a spiritual source of strength, and from others who can bring us love to help us heal. It means that we are ready to acknowledge that we cannot find our safety without spiritual guidance - that we are ready to invite Spirit into our heart to nurture and guide us. It means that we have embraced the journey, the sacred privilege of learning about love upon this planet.
We cannot move into the next step of the Inner Bonding process, the intent to learn about what we are thinking or doing to cause our pain until we are willing to move out of denial regarding our inner distress. As long as we are in denial about our pain, we will not recognize that we have inner pain and may not be motivated to learn about it. Our denial is one of the ways we are protecting against pain. We may not be willing to move out of denial until loving ourselves and others is more important than avoiding our pain.
Willingness means that you pay attention to the physical sensations within your body. You cannot know if you are believing or behaving in ways that are hurting you if you are unwilling to feel what is going on within your body. Feelings of pain, anger, anxiety, hurt, fear, and loneliness are physical sensations that occur within the body. When you numb your body with substances or shut out your inner experience with manipulations and activities, you cannot know what you are feeling.
We put ourselves on a new path toward our own wholeness when we become willing to feel our pain and learn from it.

What Is The Value Of One Great Idea?
I don’t mean to diminish the importance of basic values, this is foundational to personal growth and happiness, and I believe having some spiritual beliefs is important here. But the key thing is that all these techniques such as affirmations, hypnosis, inspirational stories, motivational speeches, etc. only go so far. Real, substantial change only happens with a great idea which fundamentally changes the way you act and think. I don’t just mean a “nice idea”, rather one that just hits home with you, and helps you look at life differently or changes your behavior.
When I read a personal development book, I’m happy if I just get one great idea out of the entire book, this sadly isn’t always the case. Sometimes a great idea will hit me in the early part of a book, and I’ll set the book aside until I can fully process the idea in my mind. Great books are this way, full of so many great ideas that reading too much in one sitting is a bad idea! But great ideas don’t need to only come from books, they can come from so many sources, perhaps even a friend or co-worker.
How can we better leverage this concept in our lives? Keep a journal and write down special ideas as you come across them. Just trust yourself if an idea seems like it hits home for you. If it doesn’t feel right for you, just pass it by, even if it came from a super successful person. What’s right for one person may not be right for you, we are all unique human beings, although it’s wise to listen carefully to a successful person who you’d like to be like. Take notes about how this idea might help you in your own life. Otherwise you risk forgetting about it if you aren’t applying it regularly. My grandfather kept a little black book of ideas and quotes he wrote down, and when he passed away it meant a lot to me that I was able to have this and read the wisdoms he had collected during his long life as a minister.
I think one of the reasons people like quotations is because they sum up a great idea from a famous person in one or two sentences. Develop your own “life quotations” which express your personal great ideas and beliefs you wish to live your life by. Own these personal quotes by writing them down, and live them by practicing them.
A belief is simply an idea which you have 100% certainty in, so the trick is converting an idea to a belief through successful application of the idea. If you’re not sure an idea will work for you, just dive right in and give it a try, just thinking about it will usually get you nowhere!

Fears and Phobias
Charles F. Haanel defines fear as “…a powerful form of thought.” I think it is a very good definition, because mostly fear is in our minds. Phobia is abnormal fear. We are often afraid of things which we have no reason to be afraid of. This is because most of the fears and phobias are only the creations of our minds.
For example some people are afraid of flying. Why? Probably because they have heard about some plane crashes and that all of the people died in those accidents. Of course plane accidents do happen, and usually all of the people who are in such accidents die. But the same people who are afraid of flying are usually not afraid of traveling in cars and on buses. Cars accidents cause many more deaths than airplane accidents. The probability of dieing in the car accident is much higher than in plane accident. Flying is the safest way of traveling. So, why people are afraid of flying? Like with most phobias the reason is that they do not control their minds.
When we listen about different tragedies and unhappy news, a subconscious mind accepts everything which comes from a conscious mind. The subconscious mind is a creator, it makes things happen, but it does not have the power to differentiate between what is good and bad for us. The conscious mind has the power to differentiate, but most of the people often do not use this power.
So, when you listen to news or a story your conscious mind accepts the news and makes a fearful picture of the situation. Maybe even you or your loved ones are in this picture. If the feeling of fear is there and it gets to your subconscious mind, it gets deeply rooted in your sub consciousness and it will be very difficult to get rid of that fear.
Of course there are some techniques to get rid of different fears and phobias. But first you should be careful to not allow any fears or phobias to get to your subconscious mind. Avoid dwelling on any pessimistic and negative feelings. Try to cultivate positive feelings. Be optimistic. Even if you are not happy at the moment, thinking about your unhappiness will not make you feel better. It will make you feel worse.
Think about something that would make you happy, about something you want very much. Close your eyes. Try to visualize yourself in a happy situation, in your perfect environment. Think of the reasons why you want what you want. See yourself as already possessing what you want. Try to really feel it. Let the feeling excites you. Hold on that feeling.
If you do that you cannot feel unhappy. It might be difficult at first, but if you practice often it will become easy and natural for you. You will not only feel better but you will start attracting the things you really want. And by concentrating on positive feelings and by being charged with positive energy you will become immune to any fears and phobias. You will start manifesting the life you want. Now you are what you thought mostly about in the past. Do not allow your negative thoughts to create the unhappy future for you.

Do you remember how you felt a day before you took your final exams? Sleepless, sweaty, anxious and troubled seem to be perfectly good words to describe your state then. And then there are those times when you think you have studied all you could, made your revisions meticulously…and yet, one look at the exam paper, and all is blank. This is an accurate representation of many students on the eve of a major test. So much depends on you performing well in your exams, but you just can’t seem to control the anxiety. How great it would be if someone had a magic wand that could take these cares away. I am here to tell you that there is a magic wand like this, and it lies within your subconscious; all you need to do is summon this wand to your assistance with the help of hypnotherapy for exam nerves.
I have in my career encountered a number of students who needed help with their anxiety. These students came from various academic streams and levels; some were A Level students, while others GCSE, from those studying medicine to those studying philosophy. I have worked with them, and they have successfully implemented the techniques of hypnotherapy for exam nerves to keep them in good steed. So how does hypnotherapy for exam nerves really help? Exams are all about proving ourselves against others, its all about a flawless performance when it counts. If you are overwrought and anxious, you will never be able to achieve this perfection. The first step of hypnotherapy is to take care of these anxieties. Through soothing echoes and calming visualizations, you are given the opportunity to get over this anxiety. You will be able to relax your mind, even as the positive affirmations work their way towards your subconscious mind.
Through hypnotherapy for exam nerves, we can control the wavering of our minds, and become more focused even when faced with stressful situation. And anyone who has suffered from exam nerves will tell you that answering an exam paper can be as stressful a situation as there can be. Success in exams is as much a matter of academics, as it is about focus and your present state of mind. If you are calm, you can focus and concentrate better on the task at hand, and you will be able to recall answers with clarity. Hypnotherapy is also a great confidence booster, as it tunes your subconscious mind into believing that nothing is impossible; as a result you are sure of yourself and have a better self-image, as the self-doubt is done away with.
Hypnotherapy for exam nerves is also a long term solution. Once you have gone through a series of these sessions, you will able to recall these techniques to your aid as and when you need them. What a sense of liberation it can, this sense of control over anxiety. Hypnotherapy also helps in keeping your energy levels up, and your motivation levels high. So once you have these weapons in your armor, you are tougher; and once you are tougher, no exam paper will seem threatening enough!

Your Worst Habits Just Need To Be Reprogrammed!
Remember, just like the Earth, your brain does not discern what you plant. It will work just as hard to grow weeds as it will to grow beautiful flowers. You determine the seeds that are planted by what you say to yourself over and over.
Quite simply, you are a self-fulfilling prophecy because your subconscious mind does not know the difference between factual reality and imagined reality. If you focus on what you say you don’t want, then you will create that as the dominate request in your experience.
So, keep focused on what you do want. Define yourself as the new person you chose to be. (Example: I am a perfect weight for my body and lifestyle.) If you are still looking to lose weight, you may want to say something like: I am allowing my body to obtain its perfect balance for health and vitality. Many of your beliefs have no foundation of truth, so instead of promoting your purpose, they hold you back from success.
If you think you are destined to be overweight, below average, poor, unlucky in love, clumsy, or even “not good at something,” you will take actions that make these thoughts become reality. None of these thoughts are actually true, but thinking them creates beliefs and images in your mind that reinforce these negative statements until they actually become true for you.
Be aware of the directions you give your brain. Your internal dialogue, along with what you believe about situations, is how you create your emotions. Negative self-talk messages will cause you to give up before you even try something new. Always be aware that your words can make ominous predictions. If you say about your habit, “I’ll never be able to stop this; I’ve been doing it so long.”
You are programming yourself to believe that you are too weak and powerless to overcome the habit. These negative permissions clutter up your ability to change your behaviors. Pay attention to yourself when you hear yourself uttering negative permissions and negative reinforcements.
Avoid negative self-talk: “I can’t do this. I don’t understand. I’ll look stupid. I’m too old to learn new skills. They make me feel stupid. That’s just the way I am. There’s nothing I can do. No one in my family can do it, so I know I cannot.”
Change your self-talk to positive reinforcement for changing old behaviors (habits). A positive outlook creates more options for creative solutions. Remember, focus on what you want. Keep it simple and sure.

Keeping A Journal Can Change Your Life!
Why is it so important to keep a journal?
Here are just a few of the benefits a personal journal will provide you:
* A journal will remind you of your goals and the actions you are taking towards them every day. You are writing down your goals?
* It allows you to factually track your progress as you head closer towards your goals. Here is an example. Suppose you had set a new goal to lose 20 lbs in the next 3 months. Record your weight in your journal each day, you will now be able to see trends in your weight loss that you would not have seen without the journal.
* It provides detailed information such as dietary changes, calorie reductions, fat reduction, and so on.
* It helps build your self-esteem because you are reaffirming the positive benefits you are achieving as you get closer to your goals.
* It helps to paint the picture every day of who you are becoming.
* When you see positive results as they happen, you will become energized with optimism.
Here are a couple of simple journal tips:
Keep a simple, short log, it's easy, and it usually only takes 1 minute of your time. Each day, make short entries into your journal, list such things as your attitude, emotions, diet, weight, responses to situations and conditions in your life.
For example, if having a healthy heart is one of your goals, you will want to keep track of your cholesterol levels, your blood pressure, your weight. (Obviously, all of this data would not be recorded daily, but some entry would be recorded each day)
Try this simple little exercise. Get out a note pad or a sheet of paper and a pencil. Look at your watch. When the second hand hits 12, start timing yourself as you write down the following information:
Fri.- Felt great all day. Weight 135 pounds. Walked briskly for 20 minutes. Had healthy almonds and
nuts for snacks.
More then likely, you completed writing down the information in approximately 1 minute. Yet, in that 1 minute, you created an important snapshot of important data in your life. You now have historical data you can refer to as time goes by, to help you track your progress as you move towards your life goals.
I know how well this works. For the past 6 years, I have kept a simple, yet informative log of every day of my life. I can tell you exactly how I felt on Wed., July 25,2000, or any day since. I can look back and see how I reacted to issues in my life and what helped me overcome an illness, injury or stressful period in my life.
It generally takes me less then two minutes to record the log forany day. It is a habit that has become a part of my life; it is now second nature for me. If you have a computer, I recommend typing just three to four lines of descriptive text into a word processing program each day.

The Awesome Power Of Words
There are many people who are struggling in life today not because of physical injuries on a playground but from words spoken out in anger, rage or disgust. Physical injuries through the years have healed fast and words have not healed so fast. For many, negative and destructive words play over and over like a bad movie in the heart and soul.
Words are very powerful. We listen to the words spoken to us and they impact us more than we realize. They move us, inspire us to action, comfort and encourage us, bring healing or they can crush us and devastate us. We are changed either positively or negatively simply because of words. We are even impacted by our own words and tend to follow what we have declared. You have heard people say they are not good enough, smart enough and it seems that their life follows suit. They almost become self-fulfilling prophecies.
I am reminded what the writer of Proverbs says about the power of words:
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:20
“A fool’s mouth is his undoing and his lips are a snare to his soul.” Proverbs 18:7
Be careful of what you say as it just might come to pass. I am not advocating that we never speak what is reality. If we are hurt, angry or depressed, denying it is not going to make it go away. I do think it would serve us well to take inventory of our speech. What would it be like to tape ourselves on any given today? We probably would not be very happy by what we heard. What are we declaring about ourselves on a daily basis? What is our self-talk like?
When we speak, we really are listening to our own words and those words are impacting us either positively or negatively. What would happen if our words started sounding more like God’s words about us? What would happen if were intentional about speaking words that brought life and encouragement to ourselves and others?
Our words are powerful. They are ever changing us and others around us. What kind of life do we really want to live? If our tongues have the power of life and death and you and I are going to eat the fruit of our conversations, I say it’s time to start speaking in the right direction. If we can learn to encourage, build up and not to tear down ourselves or others around us, I believe we will experience powerful changes of good “fruit" in our lives!

Your MIND and Its SUPER-Powers Hidden Within
It has the power to transmute your Inner desires into their physical counterparts once focused.
What the mind can conceive, You can achieve, just as long as you have the inner Belief and Will Power to back it.
For example, take the case of where cancer patients were given 'Placebo Pills'.
These pills were just plain old pills that have absolutely NO healing capabilities what-so-ever.
So what, how did they get well?
The healing power came from their thoughts.
They were told that these pills contained the highest amounts of cancer-fighting ingredients which can effectively cure them in just a matter of months.
So the point here is, they naturally assumed in their mind that if they took this pill it would make them better and that their health will be restored.
Do you see how powerful your mind can be?
They simply registered it in their minds that these pills would cure them of their illnesses and in the process, the belief embedded within their subconscious mind became a reality.
This is just one example of the SUPER-Powers hidden within your mind.
So... now that I have your attention your probably asking yourself this question, "How can I use my mind to achieve my dreams?
Well, one of the most effective ways is to use the "as if" principle.
And what I mean by that is, act "as if" YOU are the person you want to be.
Act "as if" You are already possess whatever it is you have longed for.
Simply put, Think, Act and Feel like you've already accomplished what you have dreamed about all your life.
This principle is a very Powerful principle if you simply believe.
And you'll be much closer to your goal if you're constantly intact with your objective(s).
It's okay to be obsessed with your dreams.
It doesn't mean that if you want to be Superman you'll be able to fly out of a window and into outer space.
That would be Crazy!
I'm simply saying, "Do what needs to be done".
Take ACTION on your dreams.
Let your visions Encourage and Motivate you.
The problem with people in todays world is that they are too pre-occupied with Worries, Anxieties and Negative Emotions.
As a result of this, people are adversely affecting their state of health.
White lies unfortunately have become prevalent nowadays in order to ease the burdens or to persuade others to do things that they thought are unattainable.
A famous person once said, "Whenever you think you can or you can't, you're right!"
If you think you are poor, then you are; unless you properly condition your thoughts to a 'Positive Mindset'.
I know it's hard to think "Rich" if your environment is not conducive to such way of thinking.
Use your imagination and 'Visualize' in your head that your house is a mansion and your old car is a Porsche,...
Well, I think you get the picture.
There is absolutely NO limit to what the mind can achieve but You have to combine Belief, Will Power, and ACTION with positive thinking in order to achieve your inner desires.

Quiz- Are You Tense?
Think of yourself when you get up. Do you get up with a spring in your body and smile on your face? Or do you hate waking up? Or when you get up, your mind is full of the incomplete work? Think about what commonly happens when you get up in the morning. That gives us an indication about the tension. If we do not get up with a cheery heart that means that tension has overwhelmed us. That is not good. One day that will show as a stress related disease and some of them are very dangerous.
Quiz yourself while you are driving to the office or traveling by the train. Are you carefree? Are you enjoying the sights around? Or you are looking at your watch after every five minutes and thinking of the day ahead and so much to finish? You can understand what I am saying, is it not so? Unfortunately all the beautiful sights are lost to us, because most of us do not live in the present. We live in the past and the future. The guilt of the past actions and the expectations of future problems overwhelm our present moment. We do not cross the bridge when it comes. We cross it hundreds of times in our imagination. Quiz your lifestyle and if you realize that you are living a tense life, try to relax and take it easy.

Sex & Subliminal Messages
They used an image called a Gabor patch, named after the mathematician who created it to test our ability to determine spatial frequency and visual space. Sheng He explained that normally your two eyes look at the same image and therefore don’t have any conflict, but by using a Gabor Patch he could create a situation where the two eyes were looking at two different images. Now, when one eye is presented with an image that has high contrast and the other is static we will only see and be aware of the dynamic image. The other image goes undetected.
Using a high contrast image, presented to only one eye, the researchers could therefore cancel out the image that was being seen by the other eye. The volunteer would only be aware of the high contrast image.
During the experiment researchers presented a high contrast image to one eye, and an erotic image to the other eye. The high contrast image ensured the erotic image went undetected. Erotic images ranged from a naked woman to a naked man. For example the naked woman was shown to a heterosexual man, a homosexual man, a homosexual woman and a heterosexual woman.
In order to ensure that the invisible images were not detected consciously the volunteers were instructed to press a specific key on a keyboard if they noticed a difference between the images seen through their left and right eye.
Thirty-two trials were conducted and it was found that the men displayed a significantly higher propensity for detecting the orientation of Gabor patches when they were presented in a slot that was previously occupied by the “invisible” image of a naked woman. This in effect showed that the naked picture acted as a subliminal image.
However, when heterosexual men were shown, a Gabor Patch, where there had been a picture of a naked man they had a much more difficult time detecting the orientation. The heterosexual women faired much better when shown a picture of a naked woman as did the homosexual men.
It seemed however, that the results were significantly better when the volunteers were shown the subliminal pictures that appealed to their sexual orientation. However, when they were shown the pictures without the high contrast “blinding” subliminal effect and could consciously see the pictures the effects were not as good.
So, it would appear from this study, that subliminal images are detected by the mind and acted upon.

The mind power within you.
Many are sound asleep because they do not know about this gold mine of infinite intelligence and boundless love within themselves. Whatever you want, you can draw forth. A magnetised piece of steel will lift about ten times its own weight, and if you demagnetise this same piece of steel, it will not even lift a feather. Similarly, there are two types of people. There is the magnetised person who is full of confidence and faith. They know they are born to win and to succeed. Then, there is the type of person who is demagnetised. They are full of fears and doubts. Opportunities come, and they say, “I might fail; I might lose my money; people will laugh at me.” This type of person will not get very far in life because, if they are afraid to go forward, they will simply stay where they are. Become a magnetised person and live a successful life in all areas of life.
You can bring into you life more power, more wealth, more health, more happiness and more joy by learning to contact and release the hidden power of your subconscious mind.
Within your subconscious mind depths lie infinite wisdom, infinite power and infinite supply of all that is necessary to live a life of abundance. Through the wisdom of your subconscious mind you can attract the ideal companion, as well as the right business associate or partner. It can provide you with all the money you need, and the financial freedom to be, to do and to go as you heart desires.
The infinite intelligence within your subconscious mind can reveal to you everything you need to know at every moment of time and point of space provided you are open-minded and receptive. You can receive new thoughts and ideas enabling you to bring forth new inventions, make new discoveries, or write books and plays. Moreover, the infinite intelligence in your sub-conscious can impart to you wonderful kinds of knowledge of an original nature. It can reveal to you and open the way for perfect expression and true place in you life.
It is your right to discover this inner world of thought, feeling, and power, of light, love and beauty. Though invisible, its forces are mighty. Within your subconscious mind you will find the solution for every problem, and the cause for every effect. Because you can draw out the hidden powers, you can come into actual possession of the power and wisdom necessary to move forward in abundance, security and joy.

Her name was Susan, and she had one six year old daughter. Susan taught me these few basic ideals that I have tried to follow in honour of her memory. It has made me a better man, a much nicer husband and in general, a happier person. Even now I can hear her say that God has blessed each and every one of us, and that we should accept these blessings and strive to become stronger both physically, mentally and also emotionally. I will always remember what she said to me the last time we met: "Jack, you are lucky. Don't blow it."

How to Make People Like You by Being a Good Listener
You get more facts
With good listening skills, you can learn more and get more information. With more information, you also understand the situation better.
You don't waste time"just listening"
Pretending to listen or barely absorbing any information is just a waste of time. Instead, listen fully and seek more information to make the most use of your time.
You are seen as an intelligent and successful person
By listening fully, the speaker will also appreciate your attention and will see you as an intelligent and successful person. All intelligent and successful people have good listening skills.
You will be caring and likeable
This has been said many times over and over, but it is one of the most important reasons for being a good listener. These traits can create a relationship and bond with the speaker.
Being a good listener requires more than just listening. Here are some expert method to how you can have good listening skills:
Say encouraging words
I'm listening, tell me more, hmm, go on. Those are examples of encouraging words to tell the speaker that you're listening and you care.
Give your full attention
Look at the speaker's eye. Do not wander looking at something else, even for a split second. If you get nervous looking at someone, you may look away to an inatimate object as if you're profoundly thinking about the speaker's words.
Repeat key words
"7 on Friday. Got that". Repeat back bits of their words. Don't make them feel like they're talking to a doll.
Ask for repetition or clarifiation
For any parts that you dozed off, don't understand, or think is important, ask them about it. Do not wait till a minute later when you don't understand anything that he/she is desribing. If there is an important point that requires your interest, ask them to confirm what you heard. For example, "9 on Friday?".
Ask for their opinion
When the speaker describes something that happened to him/her, ask what he/she felt about. Let the speaKer know that he/she is important and that you care about what he/she is talking about.
Write down notes
I'm not telling you to write down everything they say as if you were attending a class. Write down key points and if you need time to write it down, ask them to pause for a second. Make sure you remember what was being discussed and ask the speaker to resume.

Life Advice: Looking Through a Window
What Should You Do?
I have read many books on life such as Robin Sharma's Monk says this and the monk says that, and they all seem to say that money is not necessary. But it is. Can you do without cash and a lot of it? I know I can't.
So, I went to the neighbourhood Rabbi and asked for advice that will help me find my true way in life.
The rabbi nodded and took me to the window. "What do you see?" he asked me.
Promptly, I answered, "I can see people walking to and fro and a blind man is begging for alms at the left corner."
The Rabbi nodded and guided me to a big mirror. "Now look and tell me what you see?"
"I can see myself," I man answered.
The Rabbi smiled. "Now you can't see anyone else. The mirror and the window are both created from the same raw material: glass, but because on one of them they have applied a thin layer of silver, when you look at it all you can see is your own reflection."
The Rabbi placed his arm on my shoulders. "Compare yourself to those two pieces of glass. Without the silver layer, you saw the other people and felt compassion for them. When you are covered with silver, you see only yourself."
I looked at the Rabbi and stared. "I don't understand."
The Rabbi continued. "You will become someone only if have the courage to remove the silver covering over your eyes in order to again see and love others." He patted me on my back and sent me on my way.
I have thought of what he said and come to the conclusion that he had a point. Yes. We need money and we should not aim to lead a moneyless existence; its pointless and will only cause us and our families many heartbreaks in the future.
Instead, I suggest that we should follow the advice the Rabbi gave me. When we approach life through a silver covering, all we are able to see is ourselves. But discard that covering, and you will be able to see and feel everyone else.
Conclusion:
In life, we are allowed to and should be able to look at both kinds of mirrors, but we should remember that a mirror reflects only us; a window is the door to compassion, health and true wealth. In other words, seek wealth by all means, but don't let it dissuade you from life, people, children and the poor and needy.
