Why Do We Quit?

I’ve been in my own business for over 2 years. I’m in the business of helping ours. I show them an alternative store to purchase their items. They are less expensive and you receive a check for referring others. It’s a very simple concept. Sometimes so simple it’s hard to understand.

I’ve helped many switch stores and refer others. I give them every advantage possible. I give one-on-one training. I give them all the information I’ve acquired since I started so they may pass the word around. They receive a free website with free marketing training. They have an entire team to help them succeed. That’s the point….for everyone to succeed and make money.

I realize life does get in the way. Things pop up that we have no control. That’s just life. I’ve been able to work around every life situation. That’s why I love this business. It’s very flexible and easy.

Here are the 5 top reasons I think people quit before they even start:

1. They don’t know what to do next…..
2. It is actual work….
3. We have to talk to people…
4. Our friends and family have talked us out of it…..
5. I signed up and no one was there to help……

Here are the answers to those reasons:

1. They don’t know what to do next, so they just sit there. You need to step up and ask what is next. We have a training manual ready and waiting giving you step by step instructions. It’s very simple.

2. Yes, you need to work to make your business succeed. Everything in life is work. Nothing is for free. It’s really simple to make money. You just talk and show others the difference. Easy, right?

3. Yes, we do have to talk to people. It’s just like the commercials on tv. If you don’t know it’s out there how are you supposed to buy it, do it or work it? You are just talking to others, just like you would recommend a good book or restaurant.

4. Friends and family. Boy, they know everything and they have your best interests at heart, right? That’s partly true. When I started my family didn’t give me the support I needed. I got more accusations that it was a scam and it wouldn’t work. I set out to prove them wrong. Now over 2 years later, I’m still here and I’m still making money.

5. I’ve heard people say it didn’t work because when they signed up the person disappeared. I’m not like that. I email, call and set times to get together. Our team sends out a team email everyday to keep everyone in the loop. You have to do your part too. You need to show up to our appointments.

Let me ask you….who do you think will succeed in business out of these 4 people:
- 2 have cancelled without even trying.
- 1 is ready to cancel and has not show up to any of the appointments.
- The last one has been at every team call, talked to others and has taken every step described in the training manual to get her business off the ground.

Which one did you pick? The last one! Correct!!

I admit it, I’ve thought about turning in the towel when life got in the way. But I know I will not get to where I want to be if I quit. I want to succeed in my business. So I’ve stayed, worked harder and I have a great business to show for it.

My question to you is. If you are looking for a home business and you receive one-on-one training, free website, step by step training manual, team training calls, fantastic products everyone uses that are much safer for us and our environment, how could you fail?

I’d like you to read my next article called “How do you pronounce that?”

Quel Cadeau Offrir A Vos Employes

Thoughts On Thinking

Thinking. What does thinking mean? It means reflecting upon and analyzing the different aspects of a situation or a condition or any issue. This needs time. How many of us think? Why should we think? What are the issues about which we should think? If you are a medical professional, do you need to think about politics? If you are a computer professional, do you need to think
about stars? If you are a housewife, do you need to think about the petroleum prices around the world?

Our thinking

What should be our areas of thinking? Do not many of us waste time by thinking about issues that don't touch their life at all? We are all given limited time during a day. We only have 24 hours and we have to manage time in such a way that we get maximum results that help us. Getting results in areas that don't help us, are of no use. Same applies to thinking. The
question- what should I think about needs an answer to - What are my priorities in my life. If this year, my priority is to get a promotion then I need to think about the ways I can get it. If this year, my child is getting into a college, my priority is to know more about college life and think of ways to make him more comfortable in the college and help him get better results. Everyday, we know about our priorities and we have to direct thinking towards that. For example, you may love thinking about astronomy. But if your spouse is in the hospital fighting a bad disease, your priority is to learn more about that disease and think of ways to make your spouse recover faster.

Breaking old patterns

Many of us have developed patterns of thinking and we don't get away from these patterns even when required. This is wrong. We have to think about what we should think. That is our first job. And to know about that, we have to have life goals, divide them in small time frames and achieve them one after another. Our thinking has to help us doing that.

What should we think about?

Thinking about issues that lead to a happier life for us and help us achieve our goals is the correct way of thinking and investing time in that. To invest time thinking about poverty in the world, if we are ourselves running short of money will not help anyone. But if we think about the ways we can make more money, that will help us surely.

Give some thoughts on where you should apply your thinking towards, and be successful in what you do.

How to Start Your Own Small Business

Opening your own business can be a real big gamble. If you do not do your research well, you will wind up like most small businesses, and that is out of business in less then 6 months.

The most important thing to remember when opening up new business is the location. When doing your research for your new business you want to make sure you are the only business of your time in the area. If you are opening a video store you do not want to open near another video store. Remember if you are exclusive to the area, you will automatically get the business of those living in that area.

The next most important thing about opening a small business is you supplier. Do not have just one place to get supplies from, you should have several. By having more then one you can assure yourself that you are getting the lowest prices from them. And if they know about each other they will try to outdo each other to get your business.

Make sure that the products or services that you will be offering are desired, do not just decide to open up a store with out doing any market research is like playing craps, dangerous unless you really know what you are doing.

Advertising is important. Remember just like a casino you are trying to make money and not lose it. By spending some money on advertising you will increase your sales from your opening day. It is best to have a professional help you with your advertising rather then dong it yourself, there is no point in spending money on advertising if no one in your target demographic is going to see it. An example of this would be like using facial expressions to bluff in a poker game against blind players.

When picking your stock it is sometime better to have a better selection of items and maybe not so many of each item, this way you can see which items sell best and order more of those more popular items, and less of the less desired ones.

In business you should not try to open a business unless you already have experience running a related business. You may think you know how to, but to do it correctly you really need experience, after all if you were in a casino and looking to play poker you would not want a roulette dealer who is trying to figure out the rules as he goes would you? Chances are you would want an experienced poker dealer.

Depending on the type of business you are opening try keep your staff as small as possible, and if it is possible try to get friends and family to help you out. This will allow you to keep your costs low until you can really get a good idea of if you are making money or not. Once you are making money you can go out and hire people.

The Best Decision Makers in the World

Copyright 2006 Andy Warren

There’s a group of people who are at the pinnacle of decision making. They can make a snap decision in less that the blink of an eye. And those decisions can make the difference between absolute success and complete failure.

So who are these people?

They are the sportsmen and sportswomen at the top of their game. In any sport, especially those that require quick reflexes such as football, tennis, baseball or cricket the top players must be able to make important decisions quickly.

When a player is in the zone then everything is working in harmony. Their hand to eye coordination and their mind all work together in an instant to make powerful decisions. And once the decision is made and followed through, it projects that power into the game. The perfect return, the powerful shot, the exquisite pass.

And you’ll have seen the instances when the player hasn’t made a decision. You’ll hear the commentator say “he looked in two minds about that” and in the next second the shot is flunked. You can see it in missed penalties, sliced shots, weak returns and wobbly passes.

How do these people become so good at making their decisions?

They train, they practice and they seek out the best coaching. They keep on making the decisions, under pressure and over and over again. They create their decision making into a habit, even a reflex. They know that their decision making ability will make the difference between winning and losing. They know everyone on their team and everyone who supports them is depending on them to make the right decision. Every time.

How can you do the same?

Like anything in life, the way to emulate someone else’s success is to do what they do. If you want to become an excellent tennis player, you look for a role model and do what they do. If you want to become an excellent decision maker then do what these excellent decision makers do and train, practice and seek out the best coaching. Find ways that you can make more Powerful Decisions so that it becomes habit.

It’s said that “repetition is the mother of skill” and that’s just as true when it comes to decision making as it is to any other skill in life. The more you do it, the stronger it gets.

What Powerful Decision can you make right now? And then another. And then another.

Teamwork and Jigsaw puzzles

All of us talk of team work. Sports thrive on teams. Every business wants to develop winning teams. Every president or prime minister brings his own team. What is there in teams? A team is needed because a lone person can not handle all the work. So one gathers different experts, creates a team, sits back and hopes that the team will bring in great results in a short time. But many times, the team proves to be a dismal failure. Why?

Let us talk of human psychology for a moment. Ego, that is the first to kill the team spirit. Why should I work under him/her? Why should I give in and accept what you say. What I say is correct and all of you are out of your senses! Ego. This is the first danger in a good team. You must have played with jigsaw puzzles. Unless, every piece fits in, you will never get the whole picture.

Whether the piece is small or big, whether it looks good or bad, it has its place in the picture and you must fit that ugly looking small piece to get the picture right. Are you getting it? One of the team members may be the sharpest and smartest person going around, but unless he/she gets support from other members for whom he/she has no respect, the team will not achieve results. Respect for individuals is the most essential part of a good team. Trying to take care of each other's weaknesses and complementing them with your strengths will bring a balance. Appreciating the smallest achievement and ignoring mistakes will make team happy gathering.

But the first need for a good team is to work towards a common goal. The goal that excites ever member. A goal that everyone wants to achieve. A goal that fires their imagination and a goal that can make them ignore the hardship of work. Goals that will make all of them feel great, when achieved. Goals are the first and the most essential part of a team's success. If a team is not motivated to achieve a goal, that team will fail.

A very good method is to send few motivational ecards to fire the imagination and make a person, a great team leader and member.

Initiative

I wanted to share with you something that I discovered while I was watching an excellent video online. I learned about the concept of initiative and taking action and how simple it can be to catapult yourself past immobility. Having said this, keep in mind that initiative is as essential to success as a hub is essential to a wheel. And initiative is precisely taking action when we know it ought to be done but no one is asking for it to be done. Most of the time, when we elect to put aside some action that needs to be taken, we are anticipating that our effort may not give us exactly what we desire from it. Whether our desire is instant gratification or simply a journey of smooth sailing we often anticipate one or both of these things will evade us and we are caught up in immobility due to fear. When we accept that our efforts will at some point deliver to us that which we are working toward, we can more easily surpass any fear that stumps us.

Taking action that results in achievement truly does require us to gradually overcome the bumps and tough spots along the way, but by continually putting forth effort in this manner, we can achieve numerous things that are very much worth the work.

I'd like to share with you a powerful example of how initiative can propel a person into high achievement. Two men who initially came to know one another while in high school, were each doing their own thing in their adult lives, but they did manage to keep in contact. One day the two men decided that since they recognized a need in the computer industry they would take it upon themselves to write a simplified version of the programming language called BASIC. For two months they worked on the rewriting of BASIC, and then contacted contacted the computer engineer who designed the computer that used the language. The simplified version worked, and the engineer was so impressed with the work that the two men were given a contract with the production company. Soon they were adapting other programming languages for the computer and by that summer they formed a company they called Microsoft. Without initiative, a person will remain caught up in a life of less than average quality. With initiative, comes great reward.

Thank you for taking initiative in reading this post.
Joe Clinton.

The Fear Of Criticism

So many times in life we would like to try something new. Like a new sport, different style haircut, changing clothing or loosing weight. But are afraid to try because of the criticism we might receive from others because of our change. Over time we have been brainwashed into believing other people's opinions and think they hold more weight then our own feelings. We don not want to be judged. If you want to break old habits you must not be controlled by outside people. You must have inner control.

This is your life!

There is nothing wrong with a little criticism. You just have to be able to decipher between the truths. Listen for it. Ask yourself if there is any truth to what someone is saying. Do they know what they are talking about? If you feel they are after careful consideration then use their feedback to improve. If your intuition tells you they are full of it then disregard it! Be true to your self and only accept opinions that hold truths!

Don't be afraid to have criticisms of your self. But make sure they are your own opinions and not someone else’s. If you don not like something about yourself then change it. Always look to improve.

Sometimes our own criticisms are tainted. This goes back to being brainwashed. Others have fed us information over the years that might have be tainted and have altered our thoughts over the years. Since we were not trying to decipher between the truth, our thoughts have turned into a messy desk where you can not find the paper you want. It is time to clean up the mess of criticism and restructure. This is the only way you will be able to change you habits and better your life.

Test If You Will Become The Richest Person In World

Money is one of the greatest motivations in the world. Most of us work not only to earn money, but also to become wealthy. Wealth brings many comforts with it. One can have all the luxuries in the world and also get the aura of power. Wealth is power

If a quick survey is conducted to find out if people want to become rich, most of the responses will e in yes. Add one more question - Do you think that you can become the richest person in the world, and you will be surprised with the answers. Most of the answers will be in no. Very few of us believe that we have it in us to become the richest person. We are afraid of the thought and believe that we don't have the capacity to be the richest person. Why? Because we don't believe in our capabilities and also have created mental block that says - How can you, such an ordinary person dream of becoming the richest in the world?

This is our mental block that stops us from thinking creatively. Once we decide in our mind that we can become the richest person and deserve to become, we will find ways to do it. The first need is to break the mental block, the second to find ways to do it. As soon as you decide in your mind that you want to reach that goal and determine that you will reach that goal, find a business plan that will help you reach that goal. This will be tough, but once our mind is asked to find solutions, it gets them.

Test your attitude towards yourself. Test if you have any blocks in your mind. If there are any remove them and repeat to yourself that you deserve to reach the place you have decided. Work towards it and you will reach it one day. Please remember that no rich man /woman ever imagined that they would become so wealthy. Like you they all suffered self-doubts and over came them.

Personality - Do You Test Your Limits?

Are you a normal person or you normally test your limits? Let me explain what I am saying. Many of us love extreme actions and test ourselves to the extreme whenever the opportunity arises. For example, if there is a stunt event in the town, such people will go and watch it and then try the same stunt without any training. They risk their life in many such adventures but that is their nature. Are you one of these?

In business and job, such people will again react and act in extreme manner. Other co-workers will think many times before approaching boss for anything, but not those who test their limits. They think nothing of he consequences. They act like this in all life situations.

Why these people act like this? They probably enjoy adventure. They don't care for the results. They are ready to face the worst and also don't fear the worst. They have great confidence and belief in themselves. For them the whole life is an adventure.

it sounds strange but it is true. Few days back a young boy of about four and half years ran non-stop for sixty-five kilometers in India. If this is not testing the limits then what is it? The boy is adventurous and so is the coach. Though Government Of India is looking at this as violation of human right, because the child can suffer irreparable damage to his bones and kidneys, this example tells about how such people test the limits.

Create Powerful Decisions From Your Vague Intentions

Copyright 2006 Andy Warren

What’s had the biggest impact on your life? Your parents, partner, career or education? Your health, social status or background? And what’s it been for the people around you? The people you work with, your friends, those you see in the media? What’s had the biggest influence in all their lives?

It all comes down to one thing. Powerful Decisions.

All great achievements can be traced back to a single Powerful Decision. When you make a decision it gives you power and control. It puts you in charge. It makes you responsible. And that’s why many people don’t like to make decisions. They want the control and power but they’re scared of the responsibility. They’re scared they may not make the right decisions and scared they might get blamed if things go wrong.

In reality, those who do make Powerful Decisions, and they are the true leaders in life, tend to get the greatest rewards. Rewards such as money, promotion, respect, admiration, personal satisfaction or some other compensation.

And those that don’t make decisions? Well they tend to get stuck in the middle management trap, where people simply stop making real decisions and their career, and their life, just grinds to a halt.

Which group feels better for you?

You’re where you are today because of the Powerful Decisions you’ve made. Each major milestone in your life has been accompanied by a Powerful Decision. As you look back, you’ll see how your Powerful Decisions stand out as markers in your life. They’re the points of change. The forks in the road that took you along the path to where you are today.

As we grow in our lives, relationships and careers, the decisions we have to make can get harder. They can have more impact and greater consequences. And some people find that hard to handle. So they stop making decisions. Can you see where that might have happened in your life? Think back to a time when you last made a really Powerful Decision. Remember how it felt. And consider how long it’s been since that last one.

Unfortunately, the more you delay a Powerful Decision the more chance it will get made for you. And it’s often not in your favour. That’s why you want to put yourself back in control and start making your own Powerful Decisions again.

Once you make a Powerful Decision you’ll find your awareness begins to open up and you start to see things that you’ve never noticed before. Opportunities and people that may have been there all along, now become apparent to you. That’s the strength of Powerful Decisions.

So is your life filled with Vague Intentions or are you making Powerful Decisions? What one Powerful Decision do you need to make today? It may be in your career, your relationship or somewhere else in your life? What Powerful Decision have you been putting off?

Make your own Powerful Decision today, and watch how your life immediately begins to change. And of course, once you’ve made your decision there’s just one more thing to do. Take Action.

Checklist Before Starting a Home Based Business

When you are looking for a home business opportunity, it is important to make sure that you are aware of all that you will be required to bring to the equation. This can help save you a lot of confusion and money by avoiding opportunities that require too much from you to get started. Here is a checklist of thing that you should consider before selecting a home business opportunity.

1. Do you need to get a license to run the business? Many states require that businesses get a license before they are allowed to open. This includes home businesses in many locations. Check with your local government agencies to see what you will need to have in place to start your own home business.

2. Do you need a zoning permit? If you have a home business opportunity that requires doing actual business with the public, you are going to need to make sure that you will not be in violation of any zoning laws. Most cities have very strict residential zoning requirements and it is not hard to violate them. Make sure that the type of business you want to start will be acceptable to run at your current location.

3. How much equipment will you need to buy? You’ll need to know exactly how much money you’re going to have to spend to get your business operational. While some home business opportunities require just a computer, others may need a special printer, extra software, additional gadgets or even heavy equipment. This can add up in a short period of time. Make sure that you are aware of all the expenses that you will incur before you start up.

4. Do you have enough space in your home to devote to your business? Running an informational company is one thing, but if you are going to be stocking products in your home, you’re going to need enough space. For tax purposes, you’re also going to have to have a room that is completely devoted to your home business. This means no kid’s toys, or anything from your normal family life can intrude on this room. If you don’t have this kind of space you may need to add on to your home to accommodate your business.

5. Will you need to purchase any insurance? If you are doing business with the public at your home, you will need to get liability insurance. This will help protect you if anyone falls on your property or injures themselves in anyway. If you will be storing products, you will need to have them insured in case there is a flood or they get damaged in any way.

Lastly, you may want to consider business protection insurance that will help you in the event of any copyright infringement claims or other common complaints. Don’t forget your own health insurance, or any insurance that you may need to provide for employees. This can add up quickly and increase your overall start up costs.

Can't Find Your One True Path?

So you're trying to figure out what you're going to be when you grow up. The problem is you're 38, have two grown children and a husband, not to mention two cats and a dog named Sirius Black Dixon. Oh, wait, sorry, I guess I got distracted and thought we were talking about me.

Back to you. You're physically "grown," but you haven't found your "one true path." You don’t know yet what you’re going to do with your life, and you’re feeling lost, confused, and worried.

Okay, let's start with the brutal truth here. If you have spent a lot of time, effort and creative energy looking for your one true path, I have bad news.

You probably don't have one.

You see, people who have one true paths know they do and they know what they are. This is not always true. Nothing is always true. But in general, people who “home in” on one career do it early and stick with it, or if they change careers, they do it in a reasoned, considered way.

People like us, who stumble and bumble and jumble from one thing to another to another to another, we don't have one true path. We have something. It’s just not one true path.

That's the good news. Because what we have, boy is it better.

We have multiple paths. They fit our multiple passions and our multiple talents and our multitasking personalities.

You and I? We can be whatever we want. For as long as we want. And then go do something else. We can be writers, and while we’re being writers, or when we’re done being writers, we can be teachers, or driving instructors. Now, admittedly, we’re not going to be astrophysicists or CEOs of major companies. But most of us don’t want that. What we can be is just about anything we want to be – and just about everything.

Don't you feel liberated?

Are You A Know-All Or No-All?

Expert or Generalist - what are you? Are you one who will know more and more about one subject and less and less about others? Or you are one who knows something about everything? Those of us who are experts are surprised that some people on the earth are generalists and vice-versa. But both the breeds exist on our earth. What are you? Which type is better?

Let us take example of medicine. For example if someone gets fever, he/she cannot approach a specialist, because they would not know which specialty is concerned. In this case they will have to first consult a generalist and after that if needed go to a specialist.

The problem arises when one is a total generalist in his/her profession/work/business. No growth can take place here because if you are in retail but know as much about retail as you know about export procedures, that will be of no help. Slowly you will have to develop expertise in retail to succeed.

Similarly, if you are an expert in retailing but know nothing about other professions, that will hurt your interests. You will find it difficult to grow because retail does not grow alone. It has to get support of other specialties also such as manufacturing.

What is the best way? The best option would be to develop expertise in one trade/profession and get related knowledge of other professions, which will be needed to grow in your chosen field.
