Quiz- Do You Believe That You Are Unique?

Do you know that you are a unique person? Do you believe that? Or you think that you are one of the billions in the world? Do you appreciate your unique qualities? Do you know about your true potential? Let us quiz and find out.

Quiz- do you know that you are unique? All of us are unique. No face is same as any other face in the world. No fingerprints are same as other fingerprints. You are a unique person with qualities that are not with others. You are truly a unique person. Please remember that at all the times.

Quiz- do you appreciate your unique qualities? You have some unique qualities. It is seen that all of us recognize the uniqueness of others, but cannot recognize our own qualities.
Why not make a list of all your qualities. Separate out the qualities that you think can be further developed and help you achieve more in life. For example, you might be a good speaker. Have you ever considered becoming a professional in that? You may be a good painter, or a carpenter, or a good designer and so on. The point is to recognize that and develop a quality that can help you reach high in life with that.

Quiz - your ambitions. Please write down your goals, think about them. Are you aiming to reach very high or your goals are very moderate? Please revise your goals. Make them realistic but raise the bar high. Unless we extract our full potential to reach high goals, how shall we achieve great feats in life?

Test Your Ability To Handle Crisis

Who has not faced a crisis in his/her life? All of us do? The difference is in our response. Our response defines and decides our ultimate success in a crisis. Let us look at this

Calm - Some of us are very calm during a crisis. They will not easily show their emotions. Their mind might be under turmoil but their actions will not reveal that. This gives great confidence to others around. Calmness has another virtue. With calm mind, we can think coolly and decide about the course of action. That can increase the chance of success manifold.

Surrender - many of us give in as soon as a crisis appears. We are left with no strength to fight it. We don’t believe that we can over come the crisis and surrender. Our mind stos all-creative thinking and accepts the failure.

Disturbed - many of us get greatly perturbed during a crisis. We are so disturbed that we don’t know what to do. Our mind runs hither thither and we are totally confused. This creates real panic and confusion around and leads to failure most of the times.

Crisis has come. By getting disturbed or surrendering, it will not go away. Why not face it calmly. Why not count all the losses and try to recover what is left. Why not plan for future and go ahead accepting the losses cheerfully? These qualities make a winner in life.

Severe Stutter

Stutter or stuttering can have a dramatic effect on somebodys confidence.

Fluent people really can not comprehend how hard it is to live your life with a speech impediment or stutter.

I run one to one speech courses in Birmingham and one of my clients once told me about a situation he was involved in. He and his friends went to a bar one Saturday afternoon to have a few drinks. After a couple of pints he went up to the bar to order himself a drink. Unfortunately he could not speak all of the words fluently and the bar man accused him of being drunk and refused to serve him. He tried to explain that he was not drunk but had a stutter but the bar man said "That's what they all say"

He returned to his friends who asked him where his drink was. He told them what had happened, this itself was very embarressing.

This is a typical situation people who have a stutter find themselves in.

Stuttering can affect many aspects of a persons life including:

confidence

friendships

careers

relationships

school

Now that I have overcome a stutter it is like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and life is so much easier.

Energy Crisis

Title:
Energy Crisis

Word Count:
997

Summary:
The current "worldly" energy crisis and how it mirrors our personal energy.

Keywords:
energy,attraction,prayer,personal power,inspiration

Article Body:
If we look at the current “energy” crisis from a different perspective- there is valuable information available for us to access and apply to our lives. What could soaring gas/oil prices, limited production and increased demand represent on a “metaphysical” level? What is the deeper meaning to the political and corporate power struggles taking place? Why is there so much conflict and strife around the topic of “energy?”

The intelligence that created and guides this Universe is speaking to us. There is an abundance of wisdom calling for our attention.

What does “fuel” represent? It is what we need to move. It powers our cars, homes and airplanes. It is an essential ingredient to our lives at this moment. It is “energy”. Just as the world requires energy – so do we. We are complex energy systems that require fuel to exist. However, it is not gas/oil that we require- it is energy of a different type. Our existence is animated by an unseen and powerful energy. We do not know exactly what it is- but we know it exist.

Are we not experiencing a similar “energy crisis” within our own lives? There is so much going on around us in the outer “world” that our own personal and spiritual energy has become precious and scarce. Our attention is constantly being drawn “outward” and we expend vast amounts of energy just to get through the day. Our own energy has become compromised by stress, worry, anxiety and fear. The cost of continuing along this path is exorbitant. It is costing us our health, well-being and happiness. We are caught up in our own “power struggles” and regardless of how it is manifesting in our individual circumstances – it is a struggle for our own energy. We feel empty and depleted so we desperately try to control the world around us, hoping this will fill our emptiness. We allow fear to drive us around in circles- wasting more and more energy. The ways in which we do this are endless and the “world” will constantly remind you of the “lie” that you are powerless.

We are constantly bombarded with images of fear, lack and inadequacy. Turn on the television and you will hear such uplifting messages such as; you are too old and/or too fat and your teeth are not white enough. You will probably have a heart attack or get cancer or some other dreadful disease. You are probably depressed and both you and your house need a makeover. If you are having financial problems, you can pay only $39.99 to purchase a “system” that will make you a millionaire in a few short months. If your husband and/or boyfriend does not buy you a 5-carat diamond ring, then he does not love you. The “Christian” stations are selling redemption and salvation; by becoming a prayer partner for $57.00 a month you are assured of God’s blessings. Oh yeah, just in case you don’t have enough to worry about- the devil is out to get you. Take a moment and understand that companies pay big money for airtime and their only objective is to sell you something. If you enjoy watching television, then by all means watch it- but do not base who you are or how you feel about yourself by what you see and hear.

We are constantly picking on others and ourselves. Our attention is drawn outward and focused on what is “wrong”. No wonder there is an energy shortage. What is happening in the world is a manifestation of what is happening in our spirits. The wisdom of the Universe is trying to tell you something.

You are not powerless, alone or empty. There is always an unlimited supply of energy available to you at any time. Fighting with your spouse, friends, family, co-workers or business partner will not “fill you up”. Telling someone what is wrong with him or her or his or her behavior will not bring you peace. Beating up on yourself or dwelling on past “mistakes” will not recharge your energy. Your attempt to control situations out of anger and a quest for “control” will only create further conflict.

Call upon the awesome and incredible power and love of God (by whichever terminology you choose). The wisdom that created you, did not forget about you. Perhaps you have separated yourself? There is an abundance of “fuel” available, all you have to do is recognize this truth and ask. It is really that simple. The energy crisis in the world is only a mirror of the crisis within us. Recharge your energy by calling on the endless supply that is available to fill your life with peace, love and blessings. If there are situations in your life that you wish to change or create, then do so with a peaceful heart and spirit. By handling situations from a place of love, you do not deplete the energy of others or yourself.

Dear God (Universe, Goddess, Father/Mother God, All that is)

Fill me with love, peace and wisdom.
Pour your light into my life so my eyes will be opened to the truth.
Help me to see my own power, beauty and uniqueness.
Fuel my spirit to stay connected to the unlimited supply of creative energy that is always pouring forth.
Give me the knowing, that by partnering with the Divine- I am strong and powerful.
Fill my mind with your thoughts.
Help me to release guilt, anger, worry and fear.
As my heart opens- so do my spiritual eyes and I release all judgments about others and myself.
As my connection to the Divine grows- I am an observer of the world around me.
I have the power to choose how to use my energy for the highest good of all concerned.
I am no longer afraid of the false projections shown to me.
Amen (so it is)

Eliminating Your Addiction With Self-Help Tapes Asap!

Self improvement tapes help you to achieve your goal of quitting by detailed instructions. Full audio support can make a difference when you don’t have the time for lengthy therapy sessions and just don’t have the privilege of affording them. I have included some of the data’s which the tapes features and what it could do to help you along the way.

Hypnosis is an amazing tool for self-help. There is nothing as pleasant as allowing yourself to sink into a nice and easy trance and meditation from hypnosis and guided imagery. This self-esteem hypnosis tape is dedicated to helping you gain control over your life and your health by just sitting back and allowing the guided imagery to lead you to a healthy life and general self-esteem.

This self-esteem hypnosis tape is a safe and effortless way to aid in your goal to better health by inducing a trance state. It should be used at least a couple of times a day. It is important to find a quiet and secure place to listen to this hypnosis tape. It should never be played while operating a car and works best in complete isolation.

Pets often find a trance inducing tool such as this self-help tape intriguing and will try and be part of it so make sure they are out of the room before listening. I would also suggest that you keep the room semi-dark for the best trance quality. Allow yourself not to work hard at “doing it right.” All you need to do is let yourself go and enjoy the meditation trance state that develops naturally.

The self help tape or a CD “Attain and experience Inner Peace with -Tools For Balanced Living”. Is an example. “Tools For Balanced Living” is a Mindfulness Practice that guides you toward personal insight, body awareness, yoga postures and meditation. The Sedona Method will show you how to tap your natural ability to let go of any unwanted thought or feeling on the spot even when you are right in the middle of life’s greatest challenges.

This will free you to quickly and easily have all that you choose including the following: unshakable inner security, more money, better relationships, more radiant health and well being, more effective goal achievement plus break bad habits and other self-sabotaging behaviors, lose weight, stop smoking and sleep better.

THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY by by Susan Jeffers. Arrow (1987) 1991. How to turn your fear and indecision into confidence and action. As well as “OUR OWN HANDS - A BOOK OF SELF-HELP THERAPY” by Sheila Ernst and Lucy Goodison describes all kinds of therapy, from bodywork to psychoanalytically-based therapies, shows with sensitivity and clarity how to use those techniques which can actually free us and help us, and gives exercises to use in a self-help situation.

It is also important to realize that this meditation self-help and self-esteem tape is only one highly effective aid in your plan to induce self-esteem successfully. A good dietary program, exercise, and acupuncture will make your self-help program permanent over time. All you need is to assess the problems you need to focus on first as there are a lot of self-help topics which these audio books have.

Due to the fact that they all do have good results doesn’t mean you don’t need to chose which is right for you. Handpicking your choices can make a better difference and you can do it at your own home.

Effective Ways To Stop Snoring

If you have been looking for ways to stop snoring, but keep coming up short on results, don’t give up hope. There are actually many ways to stop snoring and some of them can even start working tonight.

One of the best ways to stop snoring is to change your sleeping position. If you constantly find yourself sleeping on your back, try resting on your side instead. Studies show that people who sleep on their back are more likely to snore than those who do not.

Another of the most effective ways to stop snoring is to elevate your head by several more inches with the use of a second pillow. If you currently only use one pillow, try using two instead.

Did you know that obesity plays an important role in everything that you do, including snoring? Not many people are aware of this, but being overweight is one of the leading causes of snoring.

Therefore, weight loss is also one of the best ways to stop snoring. A well-balanced program of diet and exercise may help you to shed some pounds and curb your snoring problem while also helping to deter future medical problems.

If you have allergies, consider the use of air filtration units to help rid your home of airborne allergens. In addition, removing dust, pet hair and cigarette smoke will help you to breathe cleaner air.

By doing so, allergy conditions may improve along with snoring. The reason is because snoring is often the result of restricted airways, which is made even worse with the presence of allergies.

If you want more definitive results, or are looking for additional ways to stop snoring, consider purchasing an anti-snoring device.

One such product, fittingly titled the Sleep Genie, usually works it magic on the first night. It’s sleek nylon lycra blend design comfortably supports the jaw while keeping the mouth closed.

Have you ever tried to snore with your mouth closed? Exactly! It isn’t possible, which is why the Sleep Genie is one of the ways to stop snoring and start regaining comfort through the night.

This article is intended for informational purposes only. It should not be used as, or in place of, professional medical advice. Before beginning any treatment for snoring, please consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and remedy.

Easy Games to Play for Fun

Get acquainted with a practical guide on the easiest games that you can play online. And once you read this article, you will find that you have at least stopped losing all your money. If you follow the advice well and to the dot, you will also learn how to start winning cash from other players or by beating the casino. Sounds interesting? It is.

Note that the games you must look out for are those where the house edge is very low. If these are hard to find at the casino you have entered, look for those games that depend more on skill than on luck. Some of these include blackjack and poker. The games to avoid because they depend solely on luck are any of the slot machine games such as Caribbean Stud or the regular or progressive slot jackpots. These rely only on luck and the house edge there is against you.

What is a House Edge?
Since the casinos and betting establishments are in it for making money, they have created an artificial method to gain leverage over the players. This is what they have termed house edge. What it means is that over and above what you win, the casinos deduct a certain amount for themselves. It is something like insurance but only for them and not for you. But the casinos do not actually do this. Instead, they have inserted these odds into the game winnings so that you do not notice it. When you win, you are paid according to the newly calculated odds and you are no wiser.

For instance, if you walk over to a casino and place a bet of ten dollars on a roulette table. (For arguments sake, let us also suppose it was an American roulette table.) If you win, you should be given three hundred and seventy dollars because the true odds is thirty-seven to one. Instead, you will only get three hundred and fifty dollars according to the odds of thirty-five to one. This is what I was referring to in the previous paragraph. What has happened is that you have lost twenty dollars to the casino as part of the house edge.

Playing Poker:
Pick and play this exceptional game because ,here, you are not competing against the house at all. It is other players like you who you are up against. Do battle against them and defeat them for cash. No house edge comes in the way here, but you do pay a small part of the money you win to the casino as a commission. This winning commission is called rake, and its so minute that you do not feel it pinch your pocket.

In addition, this is one of the best games to play if you are good at it and if you have razor-sharp skills. You will be able to mint money like crazy if you can read other expressions and count the cards well. You can also pick from a variety of game variations such as Red Dog Poker and Texas Holdem.

Playing Blackjack:
This is one of those games that the casino does not like you playing. If it was up to the betting establishments, they would remove these tables altogether. Why? Because the edge for them is only a half percent! Thus, is you play well by remembering that you have to beat the dealer and not reach 21, you stand a big chance of accumulating a large sum. I also suggest you brush up on your mathematical skills.

If you wish, learn how to count cards, but be careful. Because card counting works, casinos have banned it. All you have to do is count the colored cards (the cards that are ten and above). Then, it will be easier to decide which bet to make and which not to make. Practice again and again at home because you not only have to master this skill but you also have to learn to do it silently so that the casinos do not catch on.

Video Poker:
This is a game very much like one of the many regular and progressive slot machines games you will run into at a casino, but it is different. Unlike slots, skill plays a big part in the results, and thus you have a bigger chance of winning than at one of the slot machines.

But, before you begin, glance at the payment structure pasted on the machine. You should make your gaming decisions based on the house odds and payment structures of the machine.

Destiny and Freewill - Secrets to life choices

Destiny and Free Will - the hidden secrets

Working as a psychic medium and healer I meet many people from all walks of life- from pop stars and pa's, princes and paupers, the wise and the not so wise.

As well as the usual "what's going to happen" advise, I specialize in reading, guiding and teaching people who are undergoing the most major traumas - people who feel like they've wandered off their life path. From losing a loved one or a soul mate, to people who just think their life is somehow cursed with bad luck from years of trying to push forward and repeatedly meeting opposition, lack or opportunity or suffering at the hands of others.

In these extreme cases destiny's fingerprints are usually to be found everywhere and "WHY" is always the question.

In order to understand why the individuals have to experience such life traumas we need to look at the big picture; their destiny, life purpose and Karma. The secret is that the universe has purpose - rules and challenges. Nobody is here by accident; we are all here to live out our life's purpose, to learn from experience and to walk the path.

No life is pointless, it's all about progression, learning and succession to a higher level - something that even transcends one physical lifetime because our soul returns to continue the progression. This is our KARMA, the grand plan for our lives - the credits and debits, the good and the bad - the path we must tread. When we can instinctively 'tune in' to that karma, we find the purpose and the reasons for our lessons and can finally find our true path, to understand what's happening and why - and to walk the path in peace and happiness. In other words we can free ourselves.

It never fails to amuze me when people call up and ask when they will meet their soulmate; but of course he or she has to be no older than 27, tall, rich and good looking. And of course if they could me them before the holidays that would be great.

These are the same people who will most likely call me again in a few years in misery, married to the wrong person and unable to move on because of commitments. Another type of reading are the ones who expect the universe to deliver everything at their door and take care of everything without making any effort. The "I know he's not good for me but I'll stay until something happens or I meet someone else"

But we and destiny both have a part to play in order to move along the path. She will present the opportunities and challenges but we must continue to walk the path. The secret is understanding how WHAT WE WANT and what's MEANT TO BE sometimes coincide, and frequently contradict. Sounds simple but as always, in the simplest of things is to be found the greatest wisdom.

Consider our destined path as a route through a maze. The maze represents all of the possible challenges and rewards, all of the ups and downs, and all the people who we will meet who are destined to come into our lives to bring happiness or conflict. Within that framework of the maze we have free will. At any point we can turn left or right, go straight ahead or go back.

As humans we frequently have the illusion that life is totally free will. After all we can choose what to wear, where to go, who to marry and what color we want our décor. But ( didn't you just know there was a but ! ) in some things we ultimately don't. Our 'free will' and our destiny are ultimately intertwined by the fact of our existence within the predefined framework of the karma - the maze - the framework of the path from birth to death and ultimately rebirth.

What I mean is that if we are meant to pass a certain point, a certain key destined event, then we will. We can temporarily attempt to avoid these events and make a sharp left turn because we have our free will - but we will just eventually again arrive at the same junction having gone around in a big circle but having learned something very valuable on the way - a karmic lesson.

Fear, doubt, needing to control and other people's influence can all make us take these choices in our lives but ultimately we can not avoid destiny, and that's why the maze is such a good analogy.

This is why with these karmic events psychics often tell you that we cannot predict time with any great accuracy - especially where it involves another person learning a karmic lesson . . Having said that many will offer you 97% accuracy and a whole lot of other promises but realize that it's only the timing that is in the domain of the free will of the person, the outcome is pre destined. Let's just make this clear, it's not the better the psychic the better they can read time, it just doesn't work that way so beware..

Yes of course most psychics will see that new job opportunity arriving within the month and most will be right on that timing because its not a lesson, not your free will and not dependant on another person fulfilling karma.- it's a pre destined gift from the universe that was always meant to occur at that time and therefore it can be easily seen within a time frame. In other words it's an approaching junction in your maze.

But will you take the job...and when..that's the free will element....

The universe really doesn't care what you wear or what color you choose to dye your hair, however in these key life lessons we are talking here, where our free will and what we've learned is driving which route we take, timing is in the hands of the individual What is destined is the ultimate outcome.

Take for example soul mates, a classic "when will s/he return" question. Well the answer is when they have circled within their own maze long enough to realize that resistance is futile and that they have to come in your direction. How long will that take ? - well that's something they have a choice of. It's their karmic lesson...... What can be easily seen is that they will come your way, they have to. And it's that nagging undoubtable voice within you that knows that.

Your guides are telling you all the time that this is something that HAS to happen and its unavoidable. People say to me "oh well my lesson is patience" - no. It's FAITH. Understand that things that have to happen will happen. Don't be a slave to the timing, you have your own path to walk and many other things that need to be encountered on the way. Ultimately free will cannot overcome destiny it can only delay things but each person needs to learn their lesson before they can move forward. And they will - the universe has much more control than we realize.
What will be will be..........

The ultimate goal is to transcend our fears and doubts, to relinquish control, to be open to opportunity and to be prepared to follow the path to wherever it leads.

Frequently we as humans 'want' our path to be a straight line from where we are now to what we want and set off in that straight line assuming it's going to work. Understand that it may well be that there are twists and turns, unexpected events, challenges and also unexpected rewards.

Use those instincts, intuition, senses and emotions. We all have them and through them we are guided in the right direction...Psychics will help you because we are gifted to see so much more and can point the way and tell you what's meant to happen.

If you make a decision based upon your best instincts and it felt right but it all went wrong then realize that although its been a challenge and a lesson, its just something you had to go through to get to an even better place and without having transcended that challenge, that experience, you couldn't get to where you are going. Somewhere much better !

Wanting and deciding are mental functions that can create an alternate mental reality that what we decide to do is what really IS. That's not the case, it can and will just keep us going around in circles.

Information is coming to you from your instincts and senses all the time and it isn't wrong........Listen to those instincts - be prepared to take what life deals with faith and hope. Be brave, walk the path and above all, as I say to everyone....

DON'T THINK - SENSE ! You wont be led in the wrong direction

Love light and luck on your journey

The First step towards Riches

In this chapter, Napoleon Hill talks about the starting point of all achivement - Desire. He writes that the desire or impulse to achieve something in life can be so great that any obstacles no matter how big or small can stop an individual from reaching the goal he has set up for himself. A person with burning desire, an obsession with success can go to any lengths until he succeeds. Failure does not bother him and in fact he uses it as a stepping-stone to fuel his burning desire for achievement.

Napoleon Hill mentions a couple of stories of everyday common people who in the face of insurmountable odds came out victorious. Read on to understand how desire can change a mans life.

Mr.Edwin C. Barnes had one consuming obsession of his life; in fact it was a burning desire to become a business partner with a great inventor. So extraordinary was his desire to become the business associate of Thomas A. Edison that he caught a freight train to Orange, New Jersey because he never had money to pay for the fare. After arriving he straight made his way to Edison office and presented himself and asked Mr.Edison for a opportunity to become his business partner.

Mr.Edison was very impressed with Barnes determination that he gave him a chance to work in the office at a very nominal wage. He worked with great eagerness but never gave up the desire to be his business partner. He waited for his opportunity and when it came in the form of a new invention known at that time as the Edison Dictating Machine. Mr Edison?s salesmen were not very excited over the machine. They Believed that the machine had no future and thus selling it would be a difficulty.

Barnes knew that he could sell the product and suggested this to Edison who agreed immediately. Barnes did sell the machine and went to become Edison?s partner. He was so successful that Edison gave him a contract to distribute and market the product all over the nation. In fact their business grew by the slogan, ?Made by Edison and installed by Barnes.?

So strong was his desire that he achieved what he was out for. That is all there is to the Barnes Story of success!

So we see that just wishing will not make a person rich but one must desire richness with a state of mind that becomes a passion, then planning definite ways and means to acquire those riches and not recognizing failure but persisting with a one track mind towards your goal. You may as well know that you can never have enough riches unless you work hard for it, it is a well known fact that as you shall sow , so shall you reap. You should know that every great leader, poet or actor are dreamers. In fact so intense are their dreams that they see their dreams in spiritual form before it can transpire into physical form. If you do not see riches in your imagination you will never see them in your bank balance.

Thomas Edison dreamed of a lamp that could be operated by electricity, he put his dreams into action and despite more than ten thousand failures; he stood by his dreams until he made it a physical reality

Lincoln dreamed of freedom for the black slaves, put his dreams into action, and barely missed living to see a united North and South translate his dream into reality.

The same way Wright brothers dreamed of a machine that would fly through air now one may see evidence all over the world how successful their dreams were. Always remember that practical dreamers do not quit!

As Napoleon Hill says ?All who succeed in life get off to a bad start and pass through many heart-breaking struggles before they arrive?.

How can one harness and use the power of desire? This has been answered in this and the subsequent chapters in this book.

E-Banks that Accept US Casino Players

Recently, the US Federal government banned online casinos from operating in America by making it illegal to transfer money to them through any US bank or payment system. As a result of this law, most of the popular online casino networks such as Party Gaming and PlayTech left the United States. Overnight, online casino players found themselves being chased by the Federal government.

But, after a fortnight, the online casino industry came up with a solution and new online casinos started taking root. These began to operate under a different business umbrella, and by doing that, rendered the transfer of money to and from them legal. A major part of this was enlisting electronic banking systems that would accept this new clarification and start doing business with me. Listed in this article are the electronic banking systems that accept players from the United States that wish to play in online casinos.

The Payment Systems You Can Use:
1, 2) MasterCard and Visa:
The most popular credit cards in the world, you can use these for depositing money into your casino account. But, please note that the casinos do not deposit your winning through your credit card. They use one of the other electronic payment systems. This is also the biggest reason why you should refrain from using your personal credit cards today for gambling.

3, 4) Visa Delta, Visa Electron:
These are debit cards that one can use to deposit cash into their casino account. By debit card, it means that the money you pay through the card, is immediately withdrawn from your bank account. This is a comfortable option, but here too, you cannot receive money into it.

5) Neteller:
Based in the UK and traded on the London AIM Stock Exchange, this e-bank company is one of the major independent electronic banking entities in the world, and it allows players to transfer money to and from an online casino.

6) Neteller Instacash
This is Neteller's version of the Debit Card, and, in fact, it is just like any other debit card with one difference. To use, InstaCash, you have to pay a small amount. But, most casinos will offer to pay this for you, so read their regulations.

7) EcoCard
Based in the European Union, EcoCard offers a wider range of electronic banking solutions than the other e-banks. Other than the regular card and debit system, you can decide beforehand how to create a flexible financial account. Because they use a wide network of banks in Europe, transactions made through EcoCard are quick and efficient.

8) FirePay
This e-banking system is solely web-based and carries out its transactions just like a debit card. You place cash into your FirePay account, and then, you can use that money to pay or deposit into your casino account. While it will not cost you a dime to open an account, you will be charged a minimal amount each time you transfer money from your bank account to FirePay.

9) Moneybookers
All you need to open an account is an email address! This e-banking system uses transactions from your credit or debit card or your bank account to whichever company you wish to move your money to. Regulated in the UK and run by Gatcombe Park Ventures Limited, this is one of the relatively new e-finance companies that allow transferring money to online casinos.

10) eWalletXpress:
Owned and run by Navaho Networks Inc, eWalletXpress is a new electronic payment system that has been created to answer the need for US players to transfer funds to online casinos.

11) 900Pay:
This is a completely different e-banking system. Instead of charging your bank account or your credit card, 900Pay charges your telephone bill for all your financial transactions. This is one of the fastest methods of electronic payment because you do not have to go through a long and detailed sign up process. And, if you were wondering, this does work to fund your casino account.

Earn a College Degree Online from Your Own Home

You can earn a college degree online from the comfort of your own home. Now earning your degree is easier than ever before. You don't have to spend your days on a college campus; instead you can keep your current job and take classes from home. Most courses are similar to on-campus courses, except you do all the work from home. These convenient varieties of pursuing a college degree are also available for individuals working towards certain graduate school degrees.

Schools That Offer On-Line Programs

There are two main types of colleges that offer degrees you can complete from home. Regular universities and on-line universities usually offer a variety of on-line programs. Both programs are extremely flexible and available at a very inexpensive price. Because students are requesting a more flexible schedule many schools are adapting their regular curriculum.

Many campus school courses are now available in both the on-campus and online forms. So students who cannot attend a regular campus version of the class can still take it through the on-line form. Campus programs have had to add degrees online in order to keep up with the changing needs of their students.

The other main type of school that offers low cost on line degrees is a distance education college. These colleges specialize in a variety of different distance education courses. They usually offer teleconferences, virtual classrooms, and online courses. Many of these colleges have locations in major cities across the country. Students can then choose to attend classes at the physical school location or online.

Cost

Online universities do not usually charge more than a regular four-year school. In fact, many online universities are cheap compared to the high price of four-year schools. Both types of school offer assistance through federal financial aid, which can make college possible for low-income families.

Because of the financial aid and grants that are available to students, online degree programs are an affordable online college degree option. Most students who want to attend either type of university can apply for financial aid from the federal government. Some forms of financial aid are need based and some forms are given to all individuals who request it.

Busy Schedules

With the busy schedule that many individuals have today an online educational program is a great way to get the degree that is needed in order to move ahead in their current position. Most people who attend an online degree program will complete their bachelor's degree in a similar amount of time as students who go to regular class meetings.

Online programs are a great alternative to the regular four-year university. Students need a variety in their education and can benefit from the degrees offered through on-line programs. Not all degrees can be offered through on-line training, but many programs can easily transfer from an on-campus course to an on-line course.

Before settling for an on-campus degree program, consider looking into online programs that might fit your busy schedule better.

Drug Addiction And Recovery

Several emotional or psychological reasons may drive you into taking drugs. At times it is mere curiosity that propels you to develop an addiction to drugs over time. Drug addiction refers to the compulsive use of psychoactive drugs to such a level at which the user of drugs has no other way out and continues to use it.

Though addiction to drugs like opium have been common since historical times it is in recent times that the problem has been exacerbated significantly. This is mainly due to the cultivation of plants yielding drugs, advancements in biochemistry and improvements in means of getting access to drugs. The introduction of purified forms of active biological agents and the synthesis of new substances like methamphetamine has made drugs more widespread. Clinically, the word ‘addiction’ has been replaced by the word ‘dependency’ in relation to drugs.

It may be noted that not all persons are equally prone to addiction. Some persons are psychologically or genetically more predisposed to drug addiction. Again, some kinds of drugs get the better of some particular types of persons more easily. Similarly, the manner of treatment and method of recovery from addiction vary widely according to the types of drugs, amount of drugs, duration of drug addiction, medical complications and social necessities of the patient.

There is the 12-step program among the many recovery methods. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are prominent examples included herein. These are popularly used for a variety of addictions concerning the individual addicted and the family of the individual. Then there are the substance-abuse rehabilitation centers that frequently offer a residential treatment program for the seriously addicted and strive to isolate the drug addicts from other drug users and drug dealers.

The cognitive-behavior therapy, rational-emotive theory or other types of psychological behavior modification methods are employed in the treatment of drug addiction. Replacement drugs like methadone are also used. This methadone is in itself a drug but in order to reduce dependency on stronger drugs like opium it proves helpful. Acupuncture is also a treatment of choice that helps alleviate drug addiction symptoms.

Carrying out the suitable treatment from the various treatments available can bring about recovery from drug addiction. The object is to somehow bring about abstinence from the various addictive substances called drugs.

Dreaming Big, Living Large

"I'm going to be an astronaut." "I'm going to be a movie star." "I'm going to be the President." "I'm going to own a chocolate factory!"

What were your childhood dreams?

We still have the ability to dream big, no matter how old or young, no matter where we live, and no matter what our family believed and taught us to believe. However, most of us need to clear the cobwebs off our imagination. And that's just what we're going to do.

Why is dreaming so important anyway? Dreams play a significant role in determining the grandeur or constrictiveness of life. You've heard of the "glass ceiling." Dreams are the glass ceiling we create for our own life. We can create a ceiling just above our head or somewhere out at the edge of the Milky Way!

When that glass ceiling is very low, it often is because we've allowed our dreams to be created for us, either by others or by our unconscious mind. Who do you know who chose a career because their parents "suggested" it? Who do you know that stays at a job they hate because it pays the bills?

Think about your own life. How much room do you have until you hit your glass ceiling? What parts of your life could use some dream expansion?

Your imagination needs to be used regularly or it will atrophy. In the same way that you keep your heart and lungs healthy by walking, or your biceps strong by lifting weights, you need to exercise your dream muscle to keep it in good shape. But before you can really begin working out your dream muscle, you need to know what gets in the way.

All of us carry limiting beliefs. Some we may be aware of. Others may lie hidden beneath the radar of our awareness. Read through the following list of beliefs slowly. Ask yourself if any of them seem familiar. Notice how you feel when you read each one. If your body reacts with anxiety or fear - fast heart-rate, shallow breathing, tightness in the chest or solar plexus, etc. - you may have discovered a limiting belief that has been hidden within you.

I don't have enough money.
I don't have enough education.
I don't have the credentials.
I'm not smart enough.
It will never pay the bills.
It's never been done before so it probably can't be done.
It's greedy, or selfish.
It's not spiritual enough.
It's too risky.
People will think I'm crazy.
I don't have any extra time.
Some people might be hurt if I do it.
I might mess it up, or do it wrong.

This is just a small sampling of the limiting beliefs available for our use. There are hundreds of them, and thousands of variations. Whatever they sound like, whatever form they take, whatever specific words they use, limiting beliefs have but one purpose and that is to keep you small, to prevent you from dreaming big.

We'll look more at limiting beliefs in future issues but for at least the next few minutes - and hopefully longer than that! - I'm going to encourage you to let go of those beliefs and allow yourself to imagine the biggest dream you possibly can. Let go of all the "yeah buts." Let yourself drift back to that uninhibited dreaming space you had as a child. We're not concerned about whether or not these dreams ever come true. Right now we just want to rekindle the dreaming ability.

Take a moment now and enter your dream-world to imagine your life in 5-years? Let go of the rationalizations. Remember, you're dreaming, tapping into your imagination, creating a vision of your ideal life. So if you want to dream yourself into a vacation home in Hawaii, don't worry about how much it will cost or where the money will come from. If you want to dream yourself into a new career, don't worry about your lack of education, or your age, or an economic downturn. If you want to dream yourself into the perfect relationship, don't worry that you are currently single. You are imagining, dreaming, visioning. Let go of constraints, fears doubts. Let go of limiting beliefs. Have fun. Play!

If you're stuck, some questions to ask about your life five years from now are: Where am I living? What is my vocation? Am I married? Do I have children? What kind of car do I drive? What is my health like? What do I do for fun? Where do I travel?

If you have trouble letting go of the doubts try feeling your dream. In five-years, how do you feel when you wake up in the morning? How do you feel when you are working, playing, traveling. As you feel into your life, you may begin to get glimpses of what this ideal life looks like. If so, let yourself drift deeper into those glimpses. Let yourself explore the scenes that are lit up in your imagination.

Another trick you can try is to imagine someone else's ideal life. You can dream an ideal life for your spouse, or child, or a good friend. You can also try creating the ideal life for a fictional person. Become the author of this character's life. Make it a really juicy life! What would their dream life look like 5- years from now? It's likely that parts of the life you create for them are what you would like to have in your own.

Still having trouble dreaming? Here are some other ideas: Make a dream life collage. Ask a good friend to brainstorm your ideal life with you.

Take some time to write down your five-year dream. Keep the description out and visible so you can add to it, change it, allow it to grow and morph as you settle more fully into your ability to dream big. But keep your dream to yourself, at least in the beginning.

As you start to dream again, your dreams and your ability to dream are fragile. They need to be nurtured and protected. There are very few people that know how to treat dreams. So if you must share them, make sure you do so with someone that you trust will treat your dreams and you with tenderness and love.

Next time we'll look at what you can do once you have some big dreams. Until then, dream on!

Drugs And Alcohol Are Not The Answers To Your Problems

Using drugs and alcohol are not the answers to your problems. They might make you feel better for a while but sooner or later you will have to face your fears and anxieties. In the meantime, here are some reasons why drugs and alcohol are not the answers to your problems.

They are dangerous to your health. People die from using drugs and abusing alcohol. They do nothing for your short term or long-term health. Regardless of what you think, drugs and alcohol do nothing but add more problems.

Avoiding your fears and your problems are not the answers. Eventually, you will have no choice but to confront your fears and stresses. Save yourself the time and heartache and confront your problems now rather than later. Don’t put off what you can do today.

When you decide to face your fears, you will begin to learn how to manage your fears. As time goes on, you will become better in dealing with your anxieties. With some patience, it will only be a matter of time before you find the answers to your problems.

Get professional help to help you with this process. There are many professionals out there who can assist you in dealing with your stresses. There is nothing wrong with asking for assistance and making excuses will not help your situation. Be determined to solve your problem.

Drugs and alcohol can make your problems even worse. They only add more trouble and make things more complicated. Dealing with your fears is difficult enough. Why would you want to add more problems to what is already there? Be smart and tackle your fears one at a time.

Remember; drugs and alcohol are not the answers to your problems. Get the help you need and learn to deal with your situation are the best ways in managing your fears. Be patient and take things in stride. Eventually, success will follow.

Drug Addiction – Chemical Dependency

Drug addiction or chemical dependency involves regular taking of psychoactive drugs to the point where the user does not have any effective choice with him. The addictive nature of drugs varies from substance to substance and from individual to individual. Often drugs like codeine and alcohol typically require more exposures to addict their users than drugs like heroin and cocaine, which create fast addiction.

Types of drugs

Drugs are something that affects your brain and behavior. Often people start taking drugs out of sheer curiosity but this proves to be dangerous.

Following are the types of drugs available in the market:

§Cocaine – a powerfully addictive hydrochloride salt stimulant.

§Ecstasy – an illegal drug often referred to LSD.

§Hallucinogens – drugs that lead to hallucination and severely affects body by disrupting the interaction of nerve cells and neurotransmitter serotonin.

§Heroine – a highly addictive drug processed from morphine and appears as white or brown sugar.

§Marijuana – is a greenish-gray mixture of the dried, stems, seeds, shredded leaves and flowers of Cannabis Sativa, the hemp plant.

§Methamphetamine – it is a white, odorless, bitter-tasting crystalline powder that dissolves in water or alcohol to form a powerfully addictive stimulant.

§Prescription drugs – prescription drugs include opioids, CNS depressants, stimulants that are prescribed to treat narcolepsy and obesity.

Signs of drug addiction

If you are wondering how to distinguish drug addiction from normal depression or mental problems, then here are the specific signs and symbols of drug addiction:

§Feeling that drugs should be taken regularly

§Feeling that you need drug to soothe your personal problems and depression

§Suddenly feeling a sense of relaxation and happiness, red eyes, difficulty in concentration, increasing blood pressure and heart rate, paranoid thinking, drowsiness and slurred speech.

The other symptoms common to all include memory impairment, slow breathing, confusion, decreased appetite, insomnia, restlessness and sudden weight loss.

Drug addiction treatments

So drug addiction involves compulsively seeking to use a drug, regardless of the potentially negative, social, physical and psychological consequences. Breaking a drug addiction is not impossible but it is certainly a difficult job. You should support your family; friends and relatives to come out of drug addiction either through psychological counseling or through drug addition treatments.
Following are the variety of drug addiction treatments:
§Withdrawal therapy – help you stop taking drugs by detoxifying the effects. The method includes gradually reducing the dose of the drug or temporarily substituting other substances such as methadone that has much less side effects.
§Counseling – this is more of a psychological treatment that suggest strategies to avoid drugs and prevent relapses, and also offering suggestions on how to deal with relapses if it occurs again.
§Self-help groups – it helps people associated with mild drugs like cocaine, sedatives and narcotics. You are given the disadvantages of drugs and their stimulating effects so you start taking less of it.
§Treatment programs – it includes educational and therapy sessions based on sobriety and preventing relapses.

Almost all these methods offer you instant and permanent recovery from drug addiction.

Dream Symbolism

Dream Symbols are highly individualistic

Although there are archetypes of symbols common to most people, it's usually better to go within yourself to discover the meaning of symbols in your dreams than to consult a dream dictionary.

Interpreting your dreams requires an understanding of yourself.

Most images mean different things to different people. For example, ask three people what the color "red" symbolizes to them and you can get three completely different answers:

· Blood
· Stop
· Love

Those answers couldn't be more different! Most images in dreams are like this, which is why YOU are the best person to interpret your own dreams.

During a counseling session, a therapist will sometimes ask you about your dreams. But rarely will they tell you what they mean. Why? Because the good doctor doesn't know what your dreams mean!

Rather he or she will ask you a series of questions to help you uncover the meaning of symbols and images for yourself. This will often involve free association exercises as well as a skilled discussion of your history with regard to the images and symbols in your dreams.

It can be a long process, but a very rewarding one that leads to life-enhancing revelations!

Remember - Dreams are meant to enhance your life while you're awake. They're important messages from the depths of your soul, and all dreams are meant to come true!

Learning from your dreams is powerful, but also fun!

While dreams are meant to enhance our lives and not just entertain us, there's certainly nothing wrong with enjoying their entertainment value along the way!

As you start to remember more of your dreams, you'll be amazed, and even dazzled, at the latent creativity in your mind. It's like getting free movies every night ... and they're all produced personally for you and customized for your needs.

Dream Interpretation and Types of Dreams

Dream researchers have discovered several distinct categories of dreams, and these dream categories can be very useful both to people attempting to interpret their own dreams and to professional psychologist and therapists striving to interpret the dreams of others. This article will discuss these categories of dreams.

Dream #1 - the Daydream
While not technically a dream, since it takes place while we are awake, researchers are looking into just where the daydream fits on the spectrum of dreaming, and what it can teach us about more traditional dreams.

It is estimated that most people spend between 70 and 120 minutes each day engaged in daydreaming. Daydreaming is thought to be a level of consciousness below that of a normal waking state but above that of sleep. Daydreaming falls about midway between these two extremes.

During a daydream, we allow our imaginations to take us away from the mundane tasks of the day. As the mind is allowed to wander and conscious awareness is reduced, we can become lost in the fantasy or imaginary scenario.

Dream #2 - the Lucid Dream
Lucid dreams are among the most fascinating subjects in all of dream research. Lucid dreaming takes place when the dreamer realizes that he or she is dreaming while still immersed in the dream. Lucid dreaming occurs in that moment when you tell yourself - "This is only a dream". The occurrence of lucid dreams varies widely from person to person, with some people reporting never having lucid dreams and others reporting almost 100% lucid dreams.

While most dreamers wake up when they realize that they are in a dream, other people are able to develop the ability to remain in the dream and take control of it. These people are able to become an active participant in their dreams, and to take the dream narrative where they want it to go. These people experience some of the most enjoyable and interesting dreams.

Dream #3 - the Nightmare
Many people are troubled by frightening and disturbing dreams, commonly known as nightmares. Young children in particular often suffer from nightmares brought on by fears of monsters in their closets and under the bed, as well as other types of fear.

Of course nightmares are not confined to childhood, and many adults, particularly those who have suffered real life trauma, are particularly susceptible to nightmares. Those people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as soldiers returning from war, and rescue workers who have been through harrowing situations, report a higher incidence of nightmares than the public at large.

Many people who suffer from frequent nightmares report a history of real life problems, including psychiatric problems, problems with drugs or alcohol, or problems with family relationships. Treatment for frequent nightmares should therefore be aimed at dealing with the initial trauma or traumas that created the situation in the first place.

Dream #4 - the Recurring Dream
Most people have had a recurring dream at one point in their life, a dream that repeats itself, with minor variations or even none at all. Recurring dreams can be about any subject, and they focus on that subject night after night.

Some recurring dreams are positive and uplifting, but studies show the majority of recurring dreams to be negative in nature. Dreams can recur in this manner because the real life event that triggered it has remained unresolved. Dealing with the real life trauma responsible for recurring nightmares is often the best way to banish the bad dream.

Some dreamers report experiencing narrative dreams, in which the dream picks up where it left off night after night. These dreams are somewhat rare, but the people who experience them report them to be very vivid and memorable. Keeping a dream journal can be a big help in both remembering and interpreting these kinds of dreams.

Dream #5 - the Healing Dream
Healing dreams are often seen as sending a message to the dreamer regarding his or her health. Healing dreams often spur the dreamer to take a long delayed trip to the dentist or doctor.

Dream #6 - the Prophetic Dream
Prophetic dreams are also known as precognitive dreams, and the people experiencing these dreams often report the ability to use them to foretell the future. Independent studies of these types of dreams are rare, and the jury remains out on whether this ability to see the future exists.

One non supernatural explanation for the prophetic dream is that the subconscious mind pieces together bits of information encountered throughout the day, then puts them together in a form that makes sense to the dreamer.

Dream #7 - the Epic Dreams
Epic dreams are somewhat rare, but they are unforgettable to those who experience them. Epic dreams are so vivid, and so compelling that they simply cannot be ignored. The tiniest details of these dreams are often remembered for many years. These epic dreams may possess lots of symbols and meaning for the dreamer.

Dream Archetypes

Archetypes are images common to all humans because they arise out of common human experience.

Though we are each unique individuals, our commonalities are more pervasive and fundamental than our differences. Truly understanding this is the only cure for racism, jingoism and prejudice.

Most symbols in your dreams reflect a part of yourself. Some images common to all of humanity, along with their typical meanings are:

· THE PERSONA: A person’s “public mask.” The image of yourself you present to the public.

· THE SHADOW: The parts of a person they hide from the public, and even from themselves.

· THE ANIMUS: The male part of a person’s psyche (especially of a woman). Represented by men in one’s dreams.

· The ANIMA: The female part of a person’s psyche (especially of a man). Represented by women in one’s dreams.

· THE COUPLE: Represents wholeness and integration of the various parts of the self: anima and animus, inner and outer life, etc.

· THE HERO: Most people identify with the hero of stories, and so the hero represents the ego, which is the identification of the self.

· THE MAIDEN: Represents innocence, purity and beauty, but often an innocence accompanied by weakness that needs to be “rescued” by the hero, and so is more precisely naiveté.

· THE TRICKSTER: Sometimes represented as a clown or a magician, the trickster’s job is to hinder the mission of the hero.

· THE CHILD: The true, innocent self, filled with potential, but vulnerable.

· WISE OLD MAN: One’s inner guide based on the wisdom a person has accumulated over the years that often has to give guidance to the young inexperienced hero.

· THE FATHER: A guide, provider or authority figure.

· THE MOTHER: The part of a person that is nurturing, and promotes growth and fertility.

Beginning your understanding of dream symbols with these archetypes can give you a quick start before you delve into the more challenging (but also exciting and rewarding) work of learning your personal symbology.

Beyond these personal images, common dreams are also founded on emotions common to all of humanity:

· Fear
· The need to be understood
· The desire to be loved
· Lust and passion
· Thrill and adventure
· The pursuit of security
· A sense of belonging
· Personal journey of spiritual growth

Because humans have so many traits in common, many of our dreams are similar. These common dream symbols are the most easily understood as they have been analyzed and diagnosed by experts for years. Like archetypes, they are an excellent place to begin your journey in understanding the language of dreams.

If you are mystified by a dream, begin with the two lists above and ask if your dream contained any of the characters from the first list, or feelings from the second list. If so, begin there, and often the meaning of other more personal symbols will unfold their meaning as your mind begins to make associations.

Double Whammy: The Effects of Procrastination.

Procrastination, like all of your behaviours carries consequences. Whether your behaviour is conscious or unconscious, you will eventually have to deal with the effects. The effects of procrastination are something that we all have to confront and deal with from time to time. It's only natural to procrastinate at times but, the way you deal with your procrastination patterns will determine what effects procrastination has on your life.

One of the most obvious effects of procrastination is the failure to reap the rewards that would come from taking action. When you procrastinate you simple fail to take action on the very things you know will bring you the rewards that you desire. Although you know what you want and even what you need to do to get it, you still have to take action and it's usually at this point where procrastination sets in.

Because the results that you desire are often something bigger and better than what you currently have, you must step outside your comfort zone to get it. You might have to take actions that you are not comfortable with to which your unconscious mind reacts by "protecting" you against that which is uncomfortable. Although the short term effects of procrastination might seem as "positive" the long term effects are almost always negative.

Failing to reap the rewards of taking action can have many knock on effects. Taking action on your ideas and desires is one of your most empowering gifts. It is the process by which you can make the intangible tangible. Through your actions and your behaviour you create or un-create your life. It's not only the direct results of your actions that creates you outcomes, but often the very fact that you are actually consciously affecting the conditions of your life. It not just your actions, but rather your failure to take action that will have a greater effect on the rewards you reap from life. From this point of view the effects of procrastination is not just a direct but also an indirect loss of rewards. Every action is a cause set in motion that affects and build on past and future events to the point where we can never really determine the actual effect of one specific action. More than anything else, action opens you up to opportunity.

Opportunity is rarely the result of you waiting for it. When you put yourself in line with what you want most through your conscious action you expose yourself to opportunity. It's never a case of whether you have opportunities but rather are you noticing the opportunities? But even more importantly, are you using the opportunities or are you procrastinating? One thing is for certain and that is when procrastination becomes a habit you won't even notice all the opportunities on your doorstep. You will live your life in distraction, constantly looking for short term "pleasures" to avoid the real challenges that will cause you to reap the real results. You will always "turn a blind eye" to the real opportunities. Thos who succeed are rarely the people with the most or the most splendid opportunities. They are the people who saw an opportunity where no one else saw it and then they took action to realize it.

Out of all the negative effects of procrastination and indecision the failure to spot and act on opportunity is probably the saddest. So many people with so much talent fail to live up to their true potential because of procrastination. The rewards you reap from life will be either a direct or an indirect result of your actions or your inactions. Not only will procrastination prevent you from reaping the rewards but your inaction will prevent you from even being exposed to opportunity. Opportunity is knocking but you have to take action and at least open the door. Don't let the effects of procrastination stand between what you are and what you can become. As the famous entrepreneur and businessman Victor Kiam once said: "Procrastination is opportunity's assassin."

Don't Take Any Time For Yourself!

We live in a BUSY world, people! We do not live in an era where you can kick back and enjoy your life, or reap the rewards of your hard work over the years. There is too much to do! No matter what happens, keep your nose to the grindstone, keep charging forward with everything that you've got, and never, EVER, take any time for yourself!

There are many responsibilities that each of us has, and just to make sure that we have our priorities straight, let's go over some of the big ones:

• Your Job - You fill a position at work that couldn't possibly be filled by anyone else! The company that you work for was barely getting by before you came along, and it is very likely that they will collapse immediately if you don't drop everything and tend to every single situation that arises there.

Disregard the fact that work-related stress, commute time, and other job-related issues are the cause of countless emotional and physical problems in our society, and that you would be much happier if you backed off on your resolve to be "the best" at work. In fact, try working MORE hours each week!

• Your Family - You have a spouse or significant other, and responsibility for the children under your roof. Forget the fact that your spouse or significant other is perfectly capable of handling just as much responsibility as you are, and that you should be teaching the kids from DAY ONE to do as much as they possibly can for themselves.

If you don't take care of these people, who will? Heaven forbid they should actually have to lift a finger to help themselves, or they should have to deal with life's many issues without you there to coddle them and "make it all okay". Give up your own needs completely, and ask your family if there is MORE that you can do to make their life just a little bit easier!

• Housework - Oh, here is a good one! I once heard that if you got out of bed in the morning and didn't make that bed up nice and tight that the Bed Clothes Monster would get in there and gobble you up the next night while you were sleeping.

I also heard that - when left unchecked - Dust Bunnies can grow to the size of small predatory animals, and that your own cats, dogs, goldfish and parakeets would certainly meet an untimely demise if those pesky Dust Bunnies weren't eradicated AT LEAST once a week!

In fact, go ahead and hire a maid, but then follow the maid around to make sure the work gets done properly. Then you are spending more money, but still not saving yourself any time.

• Yard Work - Again, if you leave these types of tasks for too long without tending to them, it could be pure anarchy! The grass might grow 2 whole inches because you didn't mow it on Sunday, the dandelions would most certainly stage an organized revolt, and going one week without weeding your garden will spell disaster for everything that you are growing there.

Try cutting your lawn with a pair of scissors instead of a lawn mower. That way you will make sure the job is getting done right, and you can get face to face with those rebellious dandelions and let them know that YOU are in charge!

• Social Events - Everyone needs friends, right? You are no different, and you should feel 100% obligated to attend every single social event suggested by every person in your circle of influence. Whether it be a mixer with the people at work, drinks with your closest buddies at the local tavern, a wine and cheese picnic with the latest girl/guy you are courting, or a full-blown "run naked in the streets" party, you MUST attend!

After all, if you don't attend every single social event that comes across your calendar, you might be labeled as a person who actually has a life and a personality, and who doesn't have to spend all of their free time with other people. In fact, you might - GASP! - attract MORE people to your circle by such individualistic behavior!

So, the moral of the story - DON'T YOU DARE TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF! As you can see from the above examples, doing so will surely cause the sky to fall, reverse the laws of physics, and cause a huge rift in the space/time continuum - all because of you!

Trust me, you don't want that kind of madness on your conscious...

Don't Quarrel, Work Out Your Conflict Styles

Your conflict management style is your particular way of responding to conflict with others. Life experience causes all of us to acquire preferences and habits of how to respond to conflict and we tend to use these over and over again. This is is your conflict management style.

What you should know about conflict management styles.

1. You function better if you know what your preferred styles are. When you don't know your preferences clearly, you run on autopilot and react blindly. If you know your preferences, you can more easily make good, conscious choices. For example, if you know your tendency is to avoid conflict, you will be better able to decide whether avoiding is really the most useful response the next time you get in a conflict.

2. You can dramatically improve your ability to deal with differences constructively in any relationship if you openly discuss your conflict style management style preferences with others. When people know and understand each other's style, they are less reactive. They are more likely to be patient with each other's responses.

Having such a discussion is almost always a positive experience. There is nothing difficult about saying, "These are my preferred styles of dealing with differences." Most people find such a conversation encouraging, enlightening, and enjoyable. People who live or work together benefit greatly from having such a discussion. Choose a time and place when you are relaxed and not in the middle of a fight.

3. There are five basic styles of dealing with conflict:

- Directing (highly assertive and not concerned about relationships). "Here is what we are going to do (my way, of course)...."

- Harmonizing (very concerned with relationships and not assertive). "Whatever you say is fine with me (I just want to keep you happy)....

- Avoiding (neither assertive nor concerned with relationships). "I'd rather not talk about it right now (better to do nothing than have a disagreement)..."

- Cooperating (assertive but also concerned with the relationship). "Here is how I'd like to do it, but I'd also like to hear what you think we should do (If we just state our differences openly, I'm sure we can figure out a way to keep us both happy)...."

- Compromising (medium assertive and medium concern for relationship). "I'll back off a bit from what I'd prefer if you'll back off some too (Nobody should expect to get everything they want)...."

4. There is no right and wrong style. Each conflict management style has its own strengths and weaknesses. The goal is simply to know these and then choose the right style for the situation you are in.

5. You can bring out the best in other people if you know the preferences that are associated with each conflict management style. For example, a preference to always begin with connecting as persons before settling down to serious business is usually strong in people who prefer Harmonzing.

A preference to think things through carefully is common among people who prefer Avoiding. Therefore it is important not to demand instant answers from an Avoider. You can easily learn these preferences and this knowledge will help you a lot in bringing out the best in the people around you.

For several decades human relations trainers and teachers of conflict resolution skills have used conflict management style inventories to help people get a clear sense of their own preferences. Two of the most widely used are the Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument and Style Matters.

How to Use Conflict Styles in Working with Other People

If you understand conflict management styles, you can often immediately sense what another person will need to feel comfortable. Below are sample "hot tips", excerpted from Style Matters:

How to bring out the best in someone who prefers the Directing conflict management style

- People who prefer the Directing style are task oriented. They are often highly productive and concerned to get the job done. They are good crisis managers and want results. Engage them and let them know you are committed to getting the job done or resolving the issue satisfactorily.
- If you need time to think things through, Directors are usually fine if you ask for this, so long as you indicate your commitment to returning to resolve things. You will get a more positive response if you state clearly when you will come back (e.g., in an hour, or tomorrow at nine o'clock, etc).

How to bring out the best in someone who prefers Avoiding

- More than any other style, Avoiders benefit from an offer to give them time and/or space to withdraw and think things through. You are more likely to get a "yes" answer on anything you need from them if you use a "two-step" approach. First, let the Avoider know you want something from them and you'd like them to think about this. Then return later - an hour, a day, a week - and hear their response.
- Stay low-key. The more intense or demanding you are, the more likely the Avoider will go into deeper withdrawal.

How to bring out the best in someone who prefers Harmonizing

- Harmonizers want to please and be pleased. Pay attention to small social niceties. More than other styles, Harmonizers are positively affected by gestures of thoughtfulness - a kind note, an appreciative comment, a card, flowers, a chocolate bar, etc.
- You will get more cooperativeness in doing serious work with Harmonizers if you use a two-step approach. First, connect with them as human beings. Ask how they are doing, inquire about a family member, tease a little, thank them for something, etc. Then, and only then, settle down to business. The human connection always comes before work for Harmonizers - an insight that may be especially difficult for task-oriented Directors to remember.
- Stay light. Seriousness or heaviness quickly stirs anxiety in Harmonizers and makes it hard for them to function well. Use humor. Appreciate their good qualities out loud.

Don’t Let Others Pull You Down When You’re Trying to Pull Yourself Up

People have a strange habit of discouraging others anytime they try to improve themselves. This applies to everything from finances to health to careers. I constantly encounter this when people discover that I’ve never bought a new car. I’ve always known that a high quality used car is a far better deal than a new one that loses 25 percent of its value the day it’s driven home. My lifelong philosophy on this was confirmed when Tom Stanley and William Danko reported in The Millionaire Next Door that the average millionaire never buys new cars and later by financial guru Dave Ramsey. Yet the people who mock me for this the most are those who are drowning in a sea of debt including huge car payments.

I also encountered this when I went on a low carbohydrate diet. I was amazed at how quick people were to tell me the diet was unhealthy and that I should get off it immediately. Many were graphic in describing how all the red meat would block my arteries and kill me. None of those critics ever cared enough to learn that I actually ate more fish and chicken once I started the diet, and far less red meat than I ate before I started it. My cholesterol dropped dramatically and I lost 52 pounds, which I have kept off for seven years. I find it ironic that none of those critics ever said, “Glenn, you’re fat and it’s bad for your health. You need to lose weight” before I went on the diet. Their criticism only came once I tried to improve my situation.

The same will happen to you when you try to improve your career. There will be people in your life that will discourage you from working harder. They’ll purport to be concerned about your well-being but their concerns could be far less noble. If they were really concerned about you they would inquire about your financial situation or goals and offer you encouragement. Their real concern may be that they look lazy if you work too hard. They’ll say things such as “Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life” or “Don’t forget to smell the flowers along the way.” Look closely and you’ll notice most of them can’t afford any flowers to smell.

This habit of pulling people down when they try to improve themselves isn’t limited to humans. John Maxwell tells a story of a study done on how animals can pull each other down. Four monkeys were locked inside a room with a pole in the middle. A bunch of bananas hung from the top of the pole and one monkey tried to climb the pole to get them. The experimenters hit him with a blast of water that knocked him off the pole just as he reached the bananas. Each of the other three monkeys tried to reach the bananas and each was knocked off the pole by a blast of water. Eventually they all quit trying. The experimenters then replaced one monkey with a new one who didn’t know about the water hose. He immediately tried to climb the pole but was pulled down by the others. The experimenters replaced each monkey one by one. Each new monkey tried to climb the pole and was pulled down. Eventually there were four monkeys who had never been hit with the blast of water. None of them would climb the pole but none knew why. Don’t let the monkeys in your life pull you down while you’re trying to climb the ladder of success.

Don't Hesitate To Get Alcohol Treatment

If you or someone you know is struggling with an addiction to or dependancy on alcohol, than I have one suggestion and one suggestion only: don't hestitate to get the alcohol treatment that is needed. It seems like people are not embarrassed about drinking alcohol until it gets to a level where they have a problem that requires attention and care. Then people seem to be filled with a lot of shame about their problems with alcohol.

I have been an alcohol treatment counselor for many years, and I am convinced that many of our problems with alcohol spring from the fact that we do not have an accurate view of just how harmful and addicting alcohol can truly be. In fact, most youth that are near the age of legal drinking have such a fascination and a wonder about drinking alcohol that is it no surprise that people quickly have problems with alcohol addiction. Because no one has taken the time to really teach the youth the potential problems they can have with alcohol, it makes sense that many of them get addicted and end up needing alcohol treatment.

Struggling with alcohol is something that is very treatable. You simply have to own up to the fact that you have a problem with drinking, however, or you will never be able to get help. My hardest clients are those that are forced into alcohol treatment and yet do not see that they have a problem that needs help. I've become convinced that a person addicted to alcohol or anything else must first admit that they are addicted and must honestly want help in order for help to be effective.

Realize that you do not have to remain in trouble with alcohol. There is freedom from your addiction. Will you ever be able to drink alcohol again? I don't know, but what I do know is that getting the alcohol treatment you need is really worth it when it comes to getting healed and enjoying a normal life. So take a serious look at your life and your future and decide whether or not getting alcohol treatment is something you should do.

Talk with your doctor, a counselor, or an alcohol treatment specialist to discuss your situation. See what course of action might be best for you or the one you love. I guarentee you that even though alcohol treatment might not be fun, it definitely is worth it.

Don't Hesitate To Get Addiction Treatment

In our day and age, it seems like you do not have to look far or long to find people that are struggling with addictions of all kinds. Sometimes you have to look no further than to yourself to find a tough addiction. When we hear the word, addiction, we immediately think of alcohol or substance abuse don't we? But let me assure you, there is a far wider range of things to be addicted to, and getting addiction treatment can be great no matter what a person is addicted to.

As a therapist, I see a variety of patients everyday who are dealing with a variety of addictions. I have patients addicted to food, to exercise, to video games, to work, to alcohol and of course to drugs or nicotine. Regardless of the addiction, I always suggest that my client makes time for intentional addiction treatment. Addiction treatment can look a variety of different ways.

The most important thing for people dealing with an addiction to anything is to realize and admit that they are addicted. It is quite hard to convince a person that they need help if they themselves do not even believe that there is a legitimate problem. One of my first goals as a therapist is to get my clients to recognize the truth that they have a problem and that it is big enough that it needs to be dealt with.

If you know that you are struggling with an addiction to almost anything, than you should seriously consider getting addiction treatment. If you are not sure where to begin, then make an appointment to talk with your doctor or with a counselor. Regardless of what type of addiction you are struggling with, a doctor or counselor will help to move you in the right direction. Perhaps you simply need to begin meeting with a counselor on a regular basis, or perhaps you need to enroll in a more serious addiction treatment program. Obviously, some addiction treatment is more serious and needs to be dealt with immediately. An addiction to food, while it is harmful, is far less of an emergency than a serious addiction to alcohol or drugs.

Take a serious look at your life. Be honest about where you are at and realize that regardless of where you are, there is hope and help to move forward. Addiction treatment is a great and healthy step to take. Make an appointment to meet with a professional today and get on the road to freedom and wholeness.
