What is the value of “one great idea” on personal development? Priceless in my opinion. When I really look back at the things which have helped me with success and happiness, it really comes down to a few key ideas and concepts that just “clicked” at one point in my life. The funny thing is that a life changing concept for me will often be practically ignored when shared with another. Everyone is unique as to what concepts are most needed in their life, and their readiness to receive it. Each of us needs to find those ideas which are going to take us to the next level in our own personal development. And I believe there always is a next level.
I don’t mean to diminish the importance of basic values, this is foundational to personal growth and happiness, and I believe having some spiritual beliefs is important here. But the key thing is that all these techniques such as affirmations, hypnosis, inspirational stories, motivational speeches, etc. only go so far. Real, substantial change only happens with a great idea which fundamentally changes the way you act and think. I don’t just mean a “nice idea”, rather one that just hits home with you, and helps you look at life differently or changes your behavior.
When I read a personal development book, I’m happy if I just get one great idea out of the entire book, this sadly isn’t always the case. Sometimes a great idea will hit me in the early part of a book, and I’ll set the book aside until I can fully process the idea in my mind. Great books are this way, full of so many great ideas that reading too much in one sitting is a bad idea! But great ideas don’t need to only come from books, they can come from so many sources, perhaps even a friend or co-worker.
How can we better leverage this concept in our lives? Keep a journal and write down special ideas as you come across them. Just trust yourself if an idea seems like it hits home for you. If it doesn’t feel right for you, just pass it by, even if it came from a super successful person. What’s right for one person may not be right for you, we are all unique human beings, although it’s wise to listen carefully to a successful person who you’d like to be like. Take notes about how this idea might help you in your own life. Otherwise you risk forgetting about it if you aren’t applying it regularly. My grandfather kept a little black book of ideas and quotes he wrote down, and when he passed away it meant a lot to me that I was able to have this and read the wisdoms he had collected during his long life as a minister.
I think one of the reasons people like quotations is because they sum up a great idea from a famous person in one or two sentences. Develop your own “life quotations” which express your personal great ideas and beliefs you wish to live your life by. Own these personal quotes by writing them down, and live them by practicing them.
A belief is simply an idea which you have 100% certainty in, so the trick is converting an idea to a belief through successful application of the idea. If you’re not sure an idea will work for you, just dive right in and give it a try, just thinking about it will usually get you nowhere!

Psychological Self-Improvement: Ways To Overcome Fear Starting Today!
People are usually afraid of negative things. They are afraid of self-improvement because of this fear. Psychological self-improvement may help you in this situation.
In psychological self-improvement, The best way to remove this fear is to understand that life is always in the cycle of ups and downs. No one is permanently up or permanently down. Remember that no one can avoid these ups and downs even the most envied Hollywood stars.
What we should do about these downs is to learn from it and not to avoid it. We should learn how to handle our problems for our psychological self-improvement.
Problems affect us every day. These problems bring us misery due to the fact that we have feelings. We should never loose hope in figuring out solutions to these problems. All we need is to learn how to overcome it and not to be overcome.
Problems can never be overcome but we can learn from them. This is where Psychology plays an important role.
Psychologists say that we should always be careful in our decisions concerning our problems. We should handle our problems properly and learn how to deal with it. Learning from mistakes helps us in preparing ourselves for psychological self-improvement
There are a lot of myths about every event in our lives is due to pre-determined reason. Another belief says that what we encounter in our lives today is our preparation for other things that may come in our lives. To understand what may happen to us in the future, we must learn from the present.
With all that, it is also true that the unexpected can happen anytime. However, you should keep in mind that a psychological self-improvement is not always for the worse and consequently, you must never let go of a chance, because you are afraid to take the risk.
Remember that, from time to time, something has to happen in order to free you from monotony, so you shouldn’t be surprised if, at a certain moment in time, instead of being afraid of change, you desire it with all your heart.
If there are some things that hinder you from going on, here are some tips to help you move forward:
Just think of the positive impacts results from the psychological self-improvement. Know important they are and reflect on how to increase them, by adding some other good aspects, which need certain assistance.
Try to picture somebody else in your situation, as picturing ourselves in a less desirable position, always looks more dramatic than it really is. If you realize that the other person can handle the change, you can be sure you’ll be able to handle it as well. This is a good psychological self-improvement.
Think of the worst situation that can result after the self-improvement. Try to find various solutions to it. Reflect on how much you can loose, if the worst happened, and how important those things are to you. If you find more than one reasonable solution, you are safe and the self-improvement can’t be stronger than you are!
Self-improvement is not bad at all. All we need is to learn how to handle some negative changes. We should also reflect from it to learn and use it in the future events that we may encounter. This could be your ultimate psychological self-improvement.

The Power Of Our Subconscious Mind
Have you ever fully appreciated that marvelous tool for success that each and every one of us has at our command? It is our mind.
Theodore Roosevelt
“All the resources we need are in the mind.”
In the novel “Terminal Man” by Michael Crichton, it mentions that at that time (1972) the largest and most expensive computer had the same number of circuits as the brain of an ant. To make a computer with the capacity of the human brain would require the size of a huge skyscraper. Its energy demand would be the equivalent of a city of a half a million.
I know computers have come a long way since 1972 but it shows the tremendous capacity of the human mind.
Did you know our conscious mind is only one-sixth of our brain’s thinking and power? Our subconscious mind represents five-sixths of our thinking and power.
The whole mind, conscious and subconscious, possesses the power to solve any problem that may come up, or provide the necessary ways and means through which we can achieve our ends.
The conscious mind holds only about 7 pieces of information in short-term memory. Your sub-conscious mind, however, stores all the knowledge you have ever acquired. Everything you have ever read, heard, thought or imagined is held within its immense memory.
Brain researchers estimate that your unconscious mind outweighs the conscious on a scale of ten million to one. This is the source of your hidden, natural genius. In other words, this part of you is much smarter than you think you are. This is where the great artists, writers, and poets to get their inspiration.
Albert Einstein
“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you, and you don’t know how or why.”
“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
The subconscious mind is useful in two ways. The first way involves receiving information, solving problems, and receiving inspiration.
The second way deals with programming your mind to supercharge your confidence, your self-image, and your desired beliefs. This can take a little time at first but like many things gets easier with practice.
Programming your subconscious works best through visualization. Pictures and symbols are by far the most effective way of impressing your subconscious. Speaking of symbols and pictures, this is why dreams are largely symbolic in nature. While you sleep your mind processes information and presents it back in the form of symbolic pictures.
What’s great about your subconscious mind is that it never rests. Whatever goal or problem you give your subconscious, it will work on continually, day or night.
Whatever you think and ponder about deeply with strong emotion makes a strong impression on your subconscious. This is why you also need to be careful. Excessive worrying and negative self-talk can also make strong impressions.
You want your subconscious mind to be a goal achieving, success mechanism, not a failure mechanism.

Finding The Gift In Every Situation
When life places obstacles in our path, when things seem like they're breaking down and we grow weary of the struggle, it's a good time to step back and look for the gift. What gift, you say?
Every situation and experience in life holds a gift, lesson or blessing for us. Yes, even the really painful experiences, like the loss of a loved one, an automobile accident, or natural disaster. There is a gift there, if we look for it.
To find the gift, we simply have to ask ourselves, "What positive lesson can I learn from this? How can this situation benefit me? What wisdom can I gain from this experience? What makes this situation worthwhile to experience in my life?" We can learn from anything in our lives, from a snag in our pantyhose to a migraine headache. We can learn from our disappointments, our heartaches, and our joy.
We can do this with any situation too, not just negative ones. Where is the gift in a boring Sunday afternoon, a crying infant or a gray, rainy wedding day? All we need to do is choose to see the positive side of the situation. The gift of a boring Sunday afternoon might be expressing gratitude for having some free time to express our creativity or enjoy a good book. A crying infant can teach us patience, compassion and nuturing. A rainy wedding day can help us understand what really matters, the celebration of love and meaningful connections with our friends and family.
Of course, when truly wonderful things happen to us, we don't need to really look for the gift then, do we? We already know what it is. During the happier moments of our lives, we can further honor this positive energy by expressing our deepest gratitude and joy. Rather than just feeling glad about our good fortune, we can purposely focus our thoughts on massive amounts of joy and gratitude, and consciously immerse ourselves in happiness. We can shout our thanks to the heavens and affirm that we welcome even more blessings in our lives.
Choosing to focus on the positive side doesn't mean living our lives in denial. It doesn't mean refusing to acknowledge the negative or mundane aspects of our lives. It means we see them, we accept them, and then we look beyond them rather than getting mired in negative thoughts and letting them affect the rest of our day.
Looking for the gift means choosing to lift our thoughts higher than our struggles. It removes us from our victim status and empowers us. No matter what happens in our lives, we have the ability to choose our attitude and our mindset. We can choose to focus on happiness, joy, love and gratitude, or we can stay mired in unhappiness and struggle.
Focusing on the gifts and blessings in our lives won't make all of our problems vanish overnight, or at all. But it reduces their importance and helps them to fade into the background a bit. We create in our lives what we focus on the most. By choosing to focus on the positive, we attract more positive energy into our lives.
Stop for a moment and look at your surroundings right now. What gifts or lessons are available to you in your current circumstances? And will you choose to embrace them and fully benefit from them?

Work Life Balance
Its seems like work life balance is an issue with growing importance these days, as more and more parents change the traditional family settings and move into different working patterns, new, unfamiliar problems in balancing work and life rise, and work life balance suddenly becomes an important subject.
So much has changed in our work patterns in the last decade that many people in the western world do not hold on to what was once considered the “family values” with parents working from home, or splitting work between an office and the home office, family duties, tasks and activities are shifting and changing into a much more flexible and unpredicted setting.
Work life balance is all about managing the time you got with them things you want to do, ask every successful manager and she will tell you that you have time enough to do everything you want to do, as long as you prioritize and fully understand what it is that you want to do in your day. work life balance is about setting limits and truly understanding how much each and every detail in your daily routine is important to you and to your goals.
Two key elements for better Work life balance are prioritizing and delegating. Prioritizing starts by simply understanding that there is way too many things you want to do, and that you can not fit all of them into one day, or some time one week. Work life balance, for many of us, is really about balancing work and family, prioritizing draws a clear picture, sometimes its not a nice one, sometimes you need to give up a lot of your favorite things by prioritizing, but eventually, as your work life balance skills improve – you will benefit from this. Prioritizing is the first step to better work life balance because it starts the process of understanding the activities limit on a daily basis.
Delegating work is another work life balance tool, this is something you can use to deal with growing tasks and not having enough time to manage everything. Managing time is the same as tasks management, and both are in fact the basics of work life management, in the daily routine everyone can do a little something for this life balance, family life can improve significantly by better work life balance, and that’s exactly why all the members of a family can contribute to it.
One more thought about work life balance, if you think about it unplanned days pass very quickly, the planned ones can move as fast as the unplanned, but in the end of the day you feel more satisfied, and you know what you did. Understanding the time you got available and figuring out what you want to do with it is a great challenge, as with all life work balance challenges, going to bed at night and realizing you have done 90% of what you planned to do, and that your day had the structure of work and family activities you wanted will make you feel good and strong, some even say that it will make you sleep better at night.
Start thinking about work life balance in your life today, balancing work and life is not so hard and it is something most of us need, you will enjoy more quality time with your family and less personal stress if you start thinking about your work life balance. Good luck.

Focus On Your Mental And Emotional Side To Gain Self Improvement Starting Today.
Not everyone believes this but the emotional and mental aspects of a person, when combined, leads to better self improvement.
Emotions love to dominate our actions and reactions, even though we do not want it to happen sometimes. The society often see emotions as a sign of weakness, so people are used to putting them aside and focusing on the rational aspects more and more.
No matter how strict and logical you may be, you will always feel. One way or another, someone or something will get through you.
Positive emotions are a lifelong goal for many of us concerned about emotional health and self improvement. What is more important; the amount of money you made during your life or the times you laughed out of sheer joy?
People tend to put their positive emotions behind their negative feelings. This is one of the biggest problems that people come across during their lives.
There is no clear way to ignore a negative experience and try to replace it with a positive one. Life just does not work that way.
For example, when you were a child, if your goldfish dies, you would be heartbroken. Your parents will probably buy you another goldfish but the sorrow is still there.
Things get even more complex when you become an adult. A fight with your spouse the night before will affect your entire day. You will go to work angry, tired, and your mind will wander. On the way home from work you will not notice the sun shining and you would not be tempted to stop at a roadside stand to pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables.
All this because that one negative thought has contaminated the way you perceive the reality around you.
In this moment you will realize finding a safe place to relax your mind will do wonders for your emotional and mental improvement.
That place is relatively easy to find. It can be an actual place or an imaginary location. The best idea is to totally lose yourself in it.
Let us say you have a problem on your mind and it just would not go away. Go bowling. Do not know how? Just give it a shot.
Get caught up in the game. Your mind will drift away from the negative thoughts that dominated your last hours or days and start processing a whole new kind of information.
A safe haven can take many forms. It can be a song, a movie, even a person or animal. The main thing is allow yourself to get completely involved with this new activity.
You might still get flashes of the problem every now and then. Ignore it and get even more absorbed in what you are doing.
When the bowling game, the song, or the movie ends you will abruptly return to reality. You will probably want to retreat back to the safe place. Do not do it.
The safe place exists only as a helping hand, not as a solution to your life's problems, may it be a small or big. It serves only as an escape route.
You will return from your safe zone with an increased energy level. You will feel better about yourself and gain more confidence. You will see that any issue can be resolved.
This is how a small escape from a harsh reality can increase your emotional and mental health. Try to do this often and you are on your way to better self improvement.

Self Esteem Improvement; Start Now Before It Is Too Late... Or Else!
Be determined to improve your self esteem and you are on your way to great achievement.
Do not let a low self esteem ruin your life. The way you think about yourself determines how you interact with others.
What are some examples of low esteem aspects in you mind that you need improvement on?
1. Nothing you do seems to go right
2. You believe that most people do not like you.
3. You believe that you are not attractive.
4. You choose something and it turns out to be the worst one.
5. You are afraid to converse with others for fear that what you say might not make sense.
6. You feel swallowed up in a whirlpool of frustration.
What’s wrong with you? Your thoughts, actually.
Stop thinking that the world is closing in on you. Get determined to achieve what you desire. Stop blaming other people for your misfortunes. The world is not your problem, you are your own problem.
From this moment on, begin the process of self esteem improvement. Think the right way and be determined to win, and win you will. Just remember that success never comes easily and that is why determination is its counterpart.
Oftentimes, one gets to the brink of success and with just a little disappointment or setback, they lose heart and give up too easily and too soon. A surefire candidate to low self esteem improvement. Who knows what great things might have been achieved if only they had persevered.
Without a high self esteem, your life could be rather boring. Change your thinking and begin to see yourself on top of the world. Make a very special effort to be what you really want to be.
You have to seriously decide either to remain in a miserable state of low self esteem, or acquire self esteem improvement and develop a high self esteem with good character and self image.
The origin of low self esteem.
A low self esteem could begin way back in childhood when children are made to believe that they are worthless. Their self confidence is eroded and they succumb to the idea that they can never achieve success in anything that they do. They were picked on, laughed at, pushed around, called ugly names, and treated with disdain. No wonder they grew up to be full of resentment.
If that was your experience, it is time you cut yourself loose from that mindset and do self esteem improvement. Start reading about the life of successful persons and you will soon discover that many of them had such low self esteem that they could not even complete an elementary education.
Many decided to override their low self esteem and improve their attitude, whatever it took. They became some of the greatest men and women that ever lived.
Low self esteem has never helped anyone else and it sure will not help you. It can only drive you into depression, anger, grudge, fear and all the other evils that it generates.
